Unit 3.01
“Cereal for THEM”

Students worked in groups of three of the same sex. They will create a brand new cereal for the opposite sex. The tasks that must be completed are listed in the bulleted list below. Teams will present their creation and will be evaluated by the following rubric.

  • Create an in depth 10 question survey to better determine what type of Cereal will best interest the opposite sex.
  • Tally the survey results and determine the percent response rate. Turn in a copy of the survey and the results.
    Based on your survey results:
  • Describe the creation of your Cereal’s flavor and be sure to explain your rationale (Why???). Also describe how your cereal applies to your target market.
  • Describe how you see your creation of cereal being positioned in the market. Also describe the image you want to portray to your target. Explain your rationale.
  • Provide a detailed description of your prediction of how your creation of cereal moves or is placed in the product life cycle. What is the predicted life cycle of your gum?
  • Describe/show how you incorporate technology in the creation of your cereal/cereal packaging or promotion.
  • Create your product name, logo, product packaging, and prototype or mock up of the package.
  • You team will present your creation to the class and each person is expected to participate in the presentation. All written work will be evaluated on appearance, format, use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
