  1. JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Senior Insight and Research Manager you will be an integral part of the central Insights team which provides support to Category and Customer Marketing colleagues, and other members of wider commercial teams. You will provide key insights, which will have been generated from a wealth of different sources including,but not limited to, Kantar, IRI, I2C, Dunnhumby, Toluna, JDA, and Mintel. You will be expected to participate in all elements of the Insight Team's work but also to specialise in insights across particular categories, areas of work, routes to market and internal communications

  1. DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual will have a broad set of responsibilities across internally and externally facing projects:

Producing regular and ad hoc insights and communications

  • Work with the rest of the Central Insights team to produce output covering market performance, food trends, industry news, in-store activity, European markets and consumer behaviour as part of the team's regular cycle of reporting.
  • Develop specialisms in some of the above, (to be nominated on commencement of the role depending on previous experience and preferences).
  • Be prepared to work flexibly on ad hoc requests which are generated from any member of the Category & Insights Team or wider commercial and NPD teams to provide insights for use with retailers, food service operators and B2B customers.

Coding of panel & audit databases

  • Work closely with external continuous data providers to ensure that Moy Park's category databases are coded correctly (CMA Coding) and maintained i.e., ensure new products are coded appropriately – this will cover Kantar / IRI / Dunnhumby, etc. in addition to retail audits.

Developing expertise across data platforms

  • Develop expertise in all of the data platforms utilised by Moy Park, and be able to act as a super user to other members of the Category & Insights and wider teams as necessary.
  • Assume responsibility for maintaining day-to-day relationships with nominated suppliers.

Supporting Category and Customer Marketing

  • Work alongside the Senior/Customer Marketing Managers and Category Managers to make planogram recommendations to Moy Park customers maximising the use of space.
  • Attend customer and/or internal meetings where necessary to deliver insights.
  • Spend time in-store as required in order to work on the production of regular documentation, tracking what is happening in all relevant retailers, food service operators and categories.
  • Attend nominated Category Team(s) meetings, potentially as a permanent member of the team if required.

Ad Hoc Analysis

  • Undertake ad hoc commercial / category analysis or market assessment work on new markets and/or product sectors as and when requested. There is a high frequency of ad hoc requests within Moy Park.
Travel & Flexibility
  • Whilst the role will be office based, there will be the requirement to attend meetings in any of the Moy Park sites, customer/supplier head offices and conferences and seminars. This could be on a regular / ad hoc basis.
  • Due to the nature of the food industry, the level, and the immediacy of the work will vary on a day to day, and a week to week basis, and as such this will require a high degree of flexibility and commitment.

  1. MEASURABLE OUTPUTS

  • Ensure that all publications and communications are completed and distributed on time, error free and adhering to published schedules.
  • Accurate Databases – Ensuring that we have accurate coding of our key databases and accurate product knowledge specifics.
  • All ad hoc category and customer support work is completed to set deadlines.
  • Support Category Reviews where required – Measured on individual input, and recommendations made during category review that improve category performance.
  • Relationships built internally and externally.

Essential / Desirable
  • Degree in relevant subject area or equivalent
  • Strong numeracy & analytical skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • High levels of self-motivation
  • Must “enjoy” deriving insights from data
  • A lateral thinker who, creates innovative solutions to “issues” – demonstrating initiative
  • An effective team player – yet happy to work unguided
  • Ability to work under pressure – whilst still delivering a high attention to detail
  • Personable with the aptitude to listen and learn.
  • Articulate and able to express themselves.
  • Good organisational and project management skills
  • Full clean driving licence & willingness to travel
  • Excellent MS Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher – and willingness to learn to use bespoke software such as Space planning

  • Previous experience of working within a marketing department or similar role
  • Previous experience of using market data such as Kantar, IRI and/or loyalty card data and consumer data such as Mintel would be an advantage but not essential, as full training will be given
