Product availability: / All products listed on www.topten.eu meet the criteria listed below.
Potential energy savings:[1] / The best Topten built-in dishwashers (Energy Class A+++) use 53% less energy than an inefficient comparable (A+) model, saving over 2300 kWh altogether. Topten freestanding models (A++) use up to 33% less energy than (A+) models, saving almost 1450 kWh:
Type of dishwasher / Best Topten model / Inefficient model / Difference over 15 years
Built-in / 137 kWh/year / 295 kWh/year / 2370 kWh
Freestanding / 194 kWh/year / 290 kWh/year / 1440 kWh
Potential water savings[2]: / The best Topten built-in and freestanding dishwashers both use between 45% and 50% less water than comparable, inefficient models on the market, equating to savings of over 25,000 litres(l):
Type of dishwasher / Best Topten model / Inefficient model / Water saved over 15 years
Built-in / 1820 l/year / 3640 l/year / 27,300 l
Freestanding / 1680 l/year / 3080 l/year / 21,000 l
Potential cost savings:[3] / Energy and water efficiency can lead to significant cost savings for each unit on electricity and water over the 15 year product lifetime:
Electricity and water costs (€) over 15 years[4]
Type of dishwasher / Best Topten model / Inefficient model / € saved per unit
Built-in / €1151 / €2083 / €932
