Processing Secure Electronic Payments

Planning a campus event? Collecting payment information for items manually and keeping them in a secure location? Wish you could receive electronic payments? With identity theft on the rise, all University employees need to be very careful when handling sensitive information such as credit card numbers and check payments received from parents and students. The Controller’s Office now offers a secure way to collect this information and accept electronic payments using a secure third-party provider.

Touchnet Marketplace allows ONU to accept online credit card and check payments through a secure site and ensures that the University meets all compliance issues involved in taking a Web payment. Please contact Dorothy Brown at or x2839; or Stacey Ward at or x2011, if you are interested in collecting online payments for your events. You will be asked to provide information or a brochure outlining your event and the name of the person responsible for managing your event. After you submit your request, please allow at least two weeks for your payment site to be created.

”Link Up” with Printing Services

Order forms for commonly printed materials from Printing Services are available online with generalized pricing to help departments estimate future printing or duplicating needs. Additional info can also be found in the guidelines for copy preparation at

Printing Services has five staff members to assist you: Anita Stanley, manager; Nancy Young, advanced administrative asst.; Jayne Brunow, printing services asst.; and Gary Prowant and Dave Herring, both printing services technicians. With a combined total of 92 years of printing experience, they can provide recommendations for cost-saving measures and adherence to postal regulations.

When the department relocated in 2008, new technology was incorporated. A computer-to-plate imagesetter replaced three outdated machines. Three presses are used for most of the printing for ONU. The bindery area has a cutter, folder, stitcher, scoring and perfing machine, and tabber as well as a large inventory of paper.

The department also makes free scratch pads from remnants of larger printed sheets.

With the new, updated equipment and use of PDF’s, orders can be placed any time, and in many cases, the finished product is ready in less than 24 hours.

Complete Your Checklist

Employees recently received a bright yellow Employee Health & Safety brochure. Supervisors are asked to review the contents with their employees, including the checklist on the last page. Each employee and the employee‘s supervisor should complete and sign the last page of the brochure and return it to the Office of Human Resources by Oct. 30. This checklist of health and safety training will remain in each employee’s personnel file. Please also review this brochure with all students working in your area. However, students are not required to sign a copy.
