Business Development Director

Summary

Crowley Maritime Corporation is currently seeking a Business Development Director located in Seattle, Washington.

What you’ll be doing…

This position is a technical sales position for naval architecture and marine engineering services.

  • Responsible for the operational management and administrative direction of executing business development goals and objectives.
  • Serves as an expert on the company’s product and services portfolio. Directs the research, collection and analysis of data regarding new and existing market segments, customers and trends.
  • Establishes relationships with potential clients and connects clients with appropriate sales personnel.
  • Oversees and participates in the preparation of bids, contract proposals and/or requests for proposals.
  • Oversees the coaching and development of sales team members as well as the development and recommendation of sales and marketing strategies.
  • Leads departmental strategic planning and staffing responsibilities.
  • Accountable for formulating and administering the department’s annual operating budget as well as performing forecasting.
  • Provides leadership and direction in policy and procedure development, enhancement and implementation.

What you’ll need…

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field along with minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sales and business development experience in a leadership capacity. Experience in vessel design, vessel construction, vessel engineering and/or vessel operations experienced desired.

  • Ability to train and supervise employees.
  • Ability to manage employee and client relationships to achieve specific goals for generating and maintaining sales of products and services.
  • Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines.
  • Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology.
  • Knowledge of marketing research techniques and tools.

What we’d love you to have…

Although not required, any one (or more) of the following is preferred:

  • Experience with OSV, PSV, Sub-Sea construction vessels and Arctic vessels a plus.
