PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION
JUNE 19, 2012
The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Tuesday, June 19, 2012 with members present: Chair Benson, Vice Chair Marcus, Drake, Werner and Mattke.
The Minutes of June 11, 2012 were approved.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Marcus, motion carried to authorize Skip McWethy, Beadle County Jail Administrator to purchase six Indoor color vandal resistance dome cameras and one 16 Channel DVR with 1 Tb storage from Electronic Security Equipment in the amount of $6,349.00 paid for with 24/7 money.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Werner, motion carried to go into Executive Session at 9:15 a.m. pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2 (1) for personnel. Chair Benson declared Executive Session over at 9:40 a.m.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Marcus, motion carried to hire Merl Hanson as Beadle County Highway Superintendent pending background check and physical effective July 9, 2012 with a yearly salary of $54,700.00.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Werner, motion carried to go into Executive Session at 10:24 a.m. pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2 (1) for personnel. Chair Benson declared Executive Session over at 10:35 a.m.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Mattke, motion carried to adopt the following resolution:
RESOLUTION 06-05-12
GRANT SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET
WHEREAS, unanticipated reimbursements were received from the State of South Dakota Department of Public Safety Office of Homeland Security for US Department of Homeland Security 2011 Homeland Security Grant Program. The following item will be reimbursed for monies expended in the 2012 budget.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Beadle County Commissioners do hereby propose, make and move for adoption of this Grant Supplemental Budget in the items set forth above.

RESOLUTION 06-06-12
GRANT SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET
WHEREAS, UNANTICIPATED REIMBURSEMENTS WERE RECEIVED FROM THE STATE OF SOUTH DAKOTA FOR STOP/VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN ACT GRANT AND FOR AMERICAN RECOVERY REINVESTMENT ACT (AARA) GRANT. THE FOLLOWING ITEM WILL BE ADDED TO THE 2012 BUDGET YEAR.

TOTAL $ 3,437.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, THAT THE BOARD OF BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS DO HEREBY PROPOSE, MAKE AND MOVE FOR ADOPTION OF THIS GRANT SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET IN THE ITEM SET FORTH ABOVE.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Marcus, motion carried to approve fireworks public display permit from Walter L. Wilk to display fireworks on July 4, 2012 at 40477 N Shore Road, Huron, SD.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Mattke, motion carried to approve application for Jess Green to sell fireworks at 39650 W. Hwy 14, Huron. SD.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Mattke, motion carried to approve moving permit of Douglas Urban to move a 12 x 20 storage shed to Lots 24 & 25 Gross Addition, Lake Byron Township.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Marcus, motion carried to approve variance request of Craig Brock to build bin closer to property line than permitted (Pleasant View Township).
Moved by Marcus, seconded by Drake, motion carried to declare the following property as surplus to be sold at Beadle County Land Sale on July 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m.:
HURON CITY
1. All of Lots 5 & 6, Block 97, County Auditor Resub of Outlot R, City of Huron (831 Wisconsin SW)
2. All of Lot 5, Block 75, 6th Railway Addition, City of Huron (451 Beach SE)
SMALL TOWNS
1. Lots 3 & 4, Block 12, Hitchcock Blocks 12 thru 16 & Outlot J, Hitchcock Town (next to 215 Poplar St)
