Procedures for School Staff Development Sponsorship
- Principal will submit Staff Development Activity Sponsorship form to Nakia Hardy for approval. Submit Technology Staff Development Sponsorship forms to Dennis Frye.
- After approval of Activity Sponsorship, a template will be sent via email to contact person.
- Sponsorship contact person will complete SEA Activity Template and email to Dobie Sharpe.
- Once approved, and receipt of template the SEA Administrator will enter activity in The SEA System.
- An online catalog of “District Activities” will be available through The SEA System for prospective participant registration.
- All rosters, surveys, and certificates of credit will be available through the SEA System.
Procedures for Participant Registration for
The Piedmont Consortium Activities
MUST HAVE PRINCIPAL APPROVAL TO REGISTER FOR ACTIVITY
- Log onto the Consortium website at
- Click on“Professional Development Offerings”.
- There will be a link that reads “Register online.” Click on that link to begin the registration process.
- If the session has space available you will be registered at that time and PTEC will send you a confirmation by email. SAVE THIS EMAIL until after you have attended the session since it contains links to change or cancel your registration.
- If a session is full the description will state that the event is full and that you may register for the wait list. You will receive an email confirmation that you have been placed on the wait list. If space becomes available, you will automatically be sent an email from PTEC stating that you have been confirmed for the session.
- After confirmation from PTEC, register through the SEA System for the Consortium activity.
- Activities can be viewed in the SEA System District Activities.
- Prospective participants will register online through the SEA System.
- If you are unable to attend the session, notify your administrator for replacement or to cancel registration with PTEC.
- Send copy of Certificate of Completion for Credit to Dobie Sharpe at Central Office.
Procedures for Participant Registration for
School & System Staff Development Activities
- School participants (administrators, teachers and assistants) will register online through the SEA System.
- Participants will be notified by email of approval status, activity registered to attend, dates, time, and location.
- All rosters, surveys, and certificates of credit will be available through the SEA System.
- After activity is completed submit a SEA System roster to Dobie Sharpe.
Procedures for Receiving Credit
for On-line Non-district Staff Development Activities
- Complete Prior Approval Form for On-line Courses.
- Submit to Nakia Hardy for General/Content Credit or Dennis Frye for Technology Credit.
- Receive approval form back.
- Complete SEA “All Other Form.”
- Approval Process Occurs. (E-mail notifications)
- Complete Training Requirements.
- Send documentation of successful completion of all requirements to Dobie Sharpe at CO.
- Complete SEA evaluation.
- Complete follow-up surveys.
Procedures for Participants to Obtain Credit for Staff Development Activities
- After completion of activity, participants will receive a survey through email.
- Once the survey is completed, credit will be awarded. Participants must complete requirements of the workshop to obtain credit. (outside work, attendance, etc.)
- Activity rosters of completed credits will be sent to Human Resources through email for posting on HRMS.
