OVERVIEW

The fire hose station is designed to be used by employees for fire fighting purposes. The stations will provide flows between 50 and 125 gpm at 75 - 100 psi nozzle pressure.

1.0Connecting 3” Supply Line to Fire Water Supply / NOTE:Close bleed on bottom of station.
__1.1Remove entire 3” orange supply line from hose rack.
__1.2Connect the female end of the hose to discharge outlet on hydrant or station monitor.
__1.3Open outlet valve “FULL OPEN” on water source.
__1.4Activate hydrant or station monitor.
NOTE:Hydrants and monitors are always operated FULL OPEN. If water source is a hydrant or fixed monitor, follow procedure to activate each respectively.
2.0Charging Attack Line / __2.1Remove entire rack of yellow line from hose rack.
WARNING
Personal injury may occur. Ensure the nozzle is in OFF position.
__2.2Slowly open 2” ball valve on hose station stand pipe. This will allow hose to fill with water.
WARNING
May cause personal injury or equipment damage. Opening valve too fast may cause hose to move forcefully for a moment.
__2.3Grasp the handle of the pistol grip nozzle with one hand. Point nozzle towards the target. With your other hand, slowly pull back on the bail to open the nozzle.
__2.4Commence fire fighting activities.
3.0Shut Down Hose Station / __3.1Slowly push the bail of the nozzle forward to close the nozzle.
__3.2Close outlet valve on hydrant water supply source.
__3.3Open the ¾” drain valve at bottom of stand pipe to relieve existing pressure and start draining water from the hose lines.
__3.4Turn nozzle tip counter-clockwise to flush position.
__3.5Remove the nozzle from the Attack Line and set aside.
__3.6Close the 2” ball valve on the hose station stand pipe.
CAUTION
Be careful not to get stones or dirt in the nozzle.
__3.7Separate the coupling joining the two lengths of yellow/green attack
line.
__3.8Disconnect the 3” orange supply line from its fire water source.
4.0Returning Hose Station to “Stand-by” Service. / __4.1Drain 3” supply line.
__4.2Reload the 3” supply line into its respective rack with a flat accordion style lay. Do not exceed the hose outside edges of the hose rack.
__4.3Drain attack line.
__4.4Reload the attack line into its respective rack yellow first 100’ then
green 50’ with a flataccordion style lay. Do not extend the hose
outside the edges of the hose rack.
CAUTION
Ensure that all couplings are free of stones and debris before coupling hoses together.
NOTE:To ensure that the hose fits in the rack, it is recommended that every other fold of hose be staggered at the outside bends.
__4.5Place the two protective covers over their respective hose rack.
NOTE:If any equipment is found to be damaged or exposed to chemicals or extreme heat, notify the Safety Team for assistance.
