ENTERING CLASS IN THE MORNING

Your teacher will pick you up from the cafeteria or gym at 7:40 and take you to your homeroom.

1. Put belongings in locker and get morning materials ready.

2. Enter room quietly.

3. Get your badge, take out your journal and begin to write.

Listen for the pledge and announcements.

4. You are tardy if you arrive after 8:00.If you are tardy, it is your

responsibility to stop at Student Services for a tardy slip.

5. If you have been absent ask for your missed assignments and

turn in the assignments due the day you were out.

6. Finished? Then read quietly in your AR book until lessonsbegin.

ASKING QUESTIONS / GIVING ANSWERS

1. Raise your hand.

2. Wait until the teacher has called on you before asking your

question or giving ananswer.

3. Making noise and moving about in your seat will not

encourage the teacher to call on you.

COMING TO ATTENTION

• Adult raises hand

• Students raise hands high, look at adult and become still

and silent.Wait for instructions.

WALKING IN LINE

1. Students are to walk in a straight, uniform line in line order.

2. Stop at designated intersections.

3. Each student should keep close to the person in front of them.

4. Remain in line order.

5. Do not exit the line without permission. If a student is

ALLOWED to leave the line, they may return to their place in

line.

6. Any staff member may remind students of appropriate line

procedures even if another teacher is leading them.

Traveling from place to place in a quiet and orderly manner is expected!

LEAVING DURING CLASS

1. If you must leave the classroom for any reason, you must take

a pass with you filled out by the teacher.

2. If given permission to leave, you must have the pass with you

at all times or you will be sent back to the classroom. If sent

back to the room, you will NOT be issued another pass.

3. You will go quietly to and from your destination.

4. When back in the room, quietly resume what you were doing.

RESTROOM BREAKS

1. Breaks will be taken as a class.

2. Appropriate line procedures must be followed during breaks.

3. Restroom monitors will be appointed each week. Monitors will

report any inappropriate behavior to the teacher.

4. Be aware of your scheduled restroom breaks and plan

accordingly.

LEAVING THE CLASSROOM AS A CLASS

1. Put belongings in your desk.

2. Listen for call to line up.

3. Line up in the designated spot. The teacher will tell you when to

depart.

4. Last one in line turns off the lights.

ENTERING THE CLASSROOM AS A CLASS

1. First one in turns on the lights.

2. Go quietly to your seat.

3. Listen for assignment from the teacher.

4. Playing with the lights will be considered “not following

directions.”

SWITCHING CLASSES

1. Check for needed materials.

2. DO NOT leave personal items in your desk. Quietly gather

materials for the next class and line up along lockers.

3. When switching, do not hinder class movement by reaching out

to other classes. HOLD your books and materials. Do not lay

them on the ground and do not play with other’s lockers.

4. Quietly take your seat in the next class and follow that class’

procedures.

LUNCHROOM PROCEDURES

1. Students should have their name badges on the lanyard around

their necks beforegoing to lunch.

2. Those students who do not have their badge will be last in line to

get their lunches. (Use your breakfast card instead.)

3. Teachers will bring students quietly into the cafeteria.

4. Students will follow cafeteria procedures for lining up.

5. After students get their food, they need to go quietly to the

assigned table and eat. DO NOT go to another class table.

6. At the end of the lunch period, teachers will pick up students and

lead them out of the lunchroom. (Each class needs to pick up all

trash on or around their table.)

AR READING

1. Use your Classroom Expectations.

2. Choose a book that you might enjoy or a book assigned by the

teacher.

3. Read without talking until asked to stop.

4. Be sure to record the book on your Reading Record.

5. You are allowed 1 book from my shelf and 2 from the library.

5. SMILE and enjoy your reading adventure!

EXPECTATIONS WHEN WITH A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER

1. Be more polite and courteous than usual.

2. Follow directions without arguing or being rude or disrespectful.

3. Do what YOU know is right, even if you see others doing what

is wrong. Do notbe a follower, be a LEADER!

4. Do your assignments without griping. These assignments were

left by yourregular teacher, not the substitute.

5. Follow the procedures.

6. Be aware that your behavior will be watched by other teachers

and reported to your classroom teacher or the office.

7. The cabinets and teacher’s desk are off limits.

SHARPENING YOUR PENCIL

1. As you enter my classroom you should have two sharpened

pencils.

2. If your pencils should break during instruction, raise your hand

and politely wait until the teacher responds.

3. Student are not allowed to use the pencil sharpeners in my

classroom.

Sharpening your pencil while somebody is speaking is rude.

1. All assignments should be turned in to the basket with your

homeroom teacher’s name attached to it.

2. When you finish your work, turn it over and wait for the teacher

or student assistants to take the papers up.

3. Should you finish early, you may take a book from your desk

and read silently.

Procedures for CCC Lab

1. Enter the lab quietly and find your designated computer. You

will always have the same computer. Paper and pencils should

be at your station.

2. Put headphones on, log inand begin working on lesson.

If you have trouble or a question, raise your hand and wait for

help.

3. When finished with the lesson, log off the computer, push chair

under the table and stand by your chair. Don’t forget your trash.

END OF THE DAY

1. At 2:50 PM listen for announcements. NO TALKING.

2. Make sure that the area around your work space is neat and free

of pencils, paper, etc, on the floor.

3. Take-home folder and planner must be put in backpack with any

papers or materials needed for homework.

4. Badges are to be placed in the badge holder.

5. Walkers and Riders will be dismissed first and will line up in the

hallway at the assigned spot. DO NOT LEAVE THE ROOM

WITHOUT YOUR DISMISSAL TICKET!

6. Bus students will be dismissed as their bus numbers are called

and should proceed directly to their bus departure area. DO NOT

LEAVE THE ROOMWITHOUT YOUR DISMISSAL TICKET

7. Remember to do your homework and bring back proper supplies

for the nextmorning.
