Basic game mechanisms

Provide the full details of the specific key game mechanisms, including:

§  Skill elements

Describe what specific reflex actions are required to progress through your game (if any).

Describe what specific strategic actions trigger progress through game stages.

Describe what puzzles must be solved to progress through your game (if any).

Describe what knowledge players require to progress through your game (if any).

§  Random mechanisms

Describe what specific random devices must be used by the player to progress through your

game (if any). (e.g. pre-electronic games used dice, toss of a coin, cards, game wheels )

§  Chance elements

Describe what specific elements of the game change randomly and outside the player’s control (if any) (e.g. alternating tasks, obstacles, settings)

Include reference to the following:

Gates (points of access to areas or levels within game)

Triggers, (mechanisms that cause changes within game)

Prompts, (information present within game to help player)

‘Chinese doors’, (gates sending player back to the start of the game)

Saves, (the ability to resume from the same point in the game, later)

Resets (does the game revert or modify itself? )
