TERMS OF REFERENCE

THE PROJECT

The Global Fund for AIDS, TB and Malaria (GFATM) has approved Round-9 HIV Grant for Pakistan which will be implemented by National AIDS Control Program (NACP) and Nai Zindagi Trust (NZT) as Principal Recipients (PRs).

(SR Name) is one of the Sub-Recipients of this project, required to implement activities under objective 1 - Scale up comprehensive HIV prevention and harm reduction services to 34,000 IDUs, 3,300 spouses and partners of IDUs in 29 selected districts of Pakistan. (SR Name) will be implementing the project activities in (Districts).

Purpose of the Post:

Toassist the Medical Officer to provide medical care to the injecting drug users, their families and partners. The medical services will be provided through a mobile medical unit comprising a Medical Officer and a Paramedic and also at the Project site when needed.

Specific Activities

  1. Service Delivery

a.Assist Medical Officer in providing basic health care services to injecting drug users on regular basis and to their families and partners when required

b.Provide anti septic dressing (ASD) to the clients having wounds/ abscesses/injuries etc.

c.Assist Medical Officer in referralof clients for advance medical treatment if required

d.Participate in meetings of the project staff as and when required

Coordinate and update record /reports to the Provincial AIDS Program

e.Assist Medical Officer in preparing daily medical services reports

to submit to the Data Entry Operator

f.Regular sterilization of medical equipment/instruments

  1. Medicines stock and medical equipment

a.Assist Medical Officer to maintain stocksof medicines and equipment issued to the mobile unit

b.Demand Generation: Assist Medical Officer to generate need for medical supplies 15 days in advance

EXPECTED OUTPUTS

To implement the project activities in an effective and efficient manner in accordance with the stipulated objectives and time frame

DURATION

The initial appointment period will be for 1.5 year with 3 months’ probation. The appointment may be extended subject to performance assessments and funding.

DUTY STATION

The incumbent will be based at Peshawar.

QUALIFICATIONS/SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Diploma in Health Technology , registered with Khyber Pakhtunkwha Medical Faculty
  • 02 years experience working as dispenser/dresser/health technician in a health care facility
  • Willingness to work in outreach settings with marginalized populations
