STARSTRUCK END OF YEAR NEWSLETTER
Starstruck Dance Academy has achieved great success this academic year. Rebecca Nardin and Rebecca Hewitt auditioned along with 250 other hopefuls to appear in Cinderella at the New Victoria Theatre at Woking. They were successful and danced alongside Justin Fletcher, Mr Tumble from CBeebies and TV presenter Zoe Salmon.
I am very pleased to announce that our ex pupil Rebecca Lane, who is also our Musical Theatre teacher has gained her first professional leading role as Cinderella at the Radlett Theatre in Hertfordshire this Christmas. We wish her the best of luck.
Congratulations to our ex pupil Elena Smith who has gained a place at The Centre Performing Arts College with 25% funding. Elena has just completed her two year course at the BRIT school and has done extremely well.
Congratulations to all the pupils who competed at the Guildford Dance Festival in April. We managed to gain 5 x 1st places, 8 x 2nd places, 5 x 3rd places and 7 x 4th places. It was a very long day but well worth it!
On 20th October 2013 a group of pupils performed at Her Majesty’s Theatre in the West End. Pupils performed three numbers in a ‘Young Performers’ show and did amazingly well. It was such an exciting day and was so lovely to see bonds developing between pupils of all different ages. Congratulations to everyone who took part, I am very much looking forward to the next one.
We achieved amazing examination results this year. Out of the 387 examinations taken we achieved a 100% pass rate with 125 Distinctions, 236 Merits and 26 Passes. Well done to everyone for working so hard towards these.
The Epsom Playhouse has been booked for our next show on 12th July 2015. The dress rehearsal will take place at the theatre on 10th July after school and the ‘whole school’ rehearsal at Auriol School on Saturday 4th July so please keep these dates free.
We still have some spaces in our Summer Dance Workshops on Friday 1st and Friday 15th August where pupils can learn various types of dance. The workshops are for pupils aged between 4 and 8. Please let me know if you would like a place.
Please find attached the timetable for next term. Please read carefully as there are a few changes. I have also attached a leaflet stating our new classes this term. Please let me know if you are interested.
I hope you all have a lovely summer and I look forward to seeing you in the Autumn term. There are classes next week,our last lesson is on Saturday 19th July.
