University of Cincinnati Principal Information Technology Auditor

The University of Cincinnati is a public research university with an enrollment of morethan 42,000 students and is one of the largest employers in the Cincinnati region. Weare looking to hire a Principal IT Auditor, who will report to the Associate Vice President and Director of Internal Audit, andwould have the responsibility for establishing and fully executing a comprehensive risk based IT audit plan in accordance with generally accepted auditing standards.

Primary responsibilities

Assess IT risks to develop a comprehensive risk based IT annual audit plan;

Plan and execute IT audits of centralized and decentralized IT departments and systems, focusing on both application systems controls and/or general computer controls, as appropriate;

Identify internal control gaps in processes or systems and recommend appropriate remediation;

Perform implementation reviews for new or modified application systems and IT technology;

Prepare reports for senior management and the Audit Committee;

Actively participate in exit conferences, providing clarification and supporting

information as necessary;

Build consensus and facilitate organizational decisions through a collegial,

transparent environment, assisting in dispute-resolution as appropriate;

Collaborate with and serve as a subject matter expert for internal auditors performing non-IT audit engagements.

Minimum qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in management information systems or a related field AND 3 to 5 years experience; OR associate’s degree in management information systems or a related field with seven years experience.

Demonstrated increasing responsible experience as an information systems auditor

Experience with auditing integrated ERP systems, such as SAP or PeopleSoft

Prior experience performing IT risk assessments and audit engagement planning

Ideal qualifications

Relevant professional designations, preferably CISM, CISA, CRISC or CIA

Experience with or adaptability to the University environment and culture, policiesand major administrative systems;

Public accounting experience;

Excellent judgment and professional skepticism;

Ability to communicate with individuals at various levels of theUniversity;

Strong attention to detail, specifically involving analytical and problem solving

skills;

Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and utmost confidentiality;

Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision.
