Primary Program 2012

Primary president: Good Morning and welcome to our primary program. This year our theme isChoose the Right. In January, each child received a CTR ring to help them remember to make good choices. In Joshua 24:15 it states, “Choose you this day whom you will serve;… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Today the primary children will share their testimonies, through music and scripture, of how choosing the right can bless us and our families.

Speaker: When we sin it is like carrying big rocks in our backpacks. When we repent and are forgiven the rocks are taken away.

Speaker: The Holy Ghost is a special gift we receive after we are baptized.

Speaker: Even though we can’t see the Holy Ghost we know he is there to guide us, comfort us, and protect us.

Speaker: Each Sunday as I take the sacrament I can become clean again as I renew the covenants I made at baptism.

Speaker:I Choose the Right by Living Gospel Principles

Scripture: In Nephi, chapter 3, verse 7, we read: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them.

Speaker: The Lord gives us commandments and asks us to obey.

Speaker: Sometimes I am tempted to choose another way.

Speaker: When I am discouraged and think I cannot try,

Speaker: I will be courageous and I will reply;

Speaker: I will go I will do the things the thing the Lord commands. I know the Lord provides a way he wants me to obey.

July:

Speaker:I Choose the Right by Living Gospel Principles

Scripture: In Nephi, chapter 3, verse 16, we read: Wherefore, let us be faithful in keeping the commandments of the Lord.

Speaker: Gospel principles are the teachings and commandments that Jesus taught.

Speaker: Some of these principles are: prayer, fasting, paying tithing, obeying the word of wisdom, dressing modestly, being kind, being reverent, and telling the truth.

Speaker: When I am choosing the right I am choosing to live these principles.

Song: Choose the Right Way (CS 160)

Speaker: In Heleman 5:12 we read, “And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.”

Talk: (About wise man, foolish man)

Song: "The Wise Man and the Foolish Man" (CS, 281)
