Job Summary

The Account Coordinator for the Truck Brokerage division supports the Company’s Over-The-Road business function responsible for the day to day management of carrier/mode selections for customer order. The Account Coordinator for this group will provide a more transactional negotiating approach with freight carriers, and will act as a facilitator for carrier problem resolution in regards to claims, payments or other business issues. Primary Duties and Responsibilities

1.  Negotiate with carriers to maximize profitability of loads consigned to your zone

2.  Determine and secure most profitable equipment per customer’s requirements for all available loads that have been assigned to corresponding zone

3.  Ensure that the system is updated with the most accurate information on our carrier base

4.  Solicit owner-operators that will be dedicated for utilization by BNSF Logistics

5.  Communicate existing or potential service problems to the applicable account manager or supervisor

6.  Recruit new carriers to fill in available opportunities for increased profitability, service, etc.

7.  Monitor service providers to ensure that company and customer service requirements are being met

8.  Improve efficiency by utilizing fewer carriers through relationship building

9.  Develop and grow core/key carriers to provide additional capacity and provide proper utilization of the carrier’s equipment

10.  Identify service and cost improvement opportunities and synergies in respective zone, such as dedicated operations and continuous moves

11.  Responsible for proper carrier selection from our vendors

12.  Assist customer/tech services, sales representatives, customers, vendors and buyer/planners with freight damage, freight loss, and tracking issues

13.  Responsible for reporting and maintaining weekly, monthly, and quarterly carrier performance metrics

14.  Arrange for third-party carriers to transport freight

15.  Contact shippers

16.  Handle customer complaints and questions

17.  Match carriers with customers

18.  Negotiate with freight carriers, and providing customer support to resolve freight issues

19.  Develop relationships and network within billion dollar industry

20.  Demonstrate and promote Pentair’s “Win Right” culture at all times when interacting with employees, co-workers, customers and suppliers

23.  Other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager

Minimum Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Required

1.  Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics or related field preferred

2.  3-5+ years of related work experience preferred, but not required

3.  Cost management experience preferred, but not required

4.  Effective oral and written communication skills

5.  Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

6.  Possess a strong sense of urgency

7.  Strong negotiating skills

8.  Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously

9.  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

10.  Transportation or logistics industry experience preferred, but not required
