Primary 3 Newsletter – 27/2/18

Class News

Well done to everyone for working so well with their Primary 7 partner to make your shaduf. They all look great and I’m sure your parents will love looking at them next week. Your Tutankhamun masks also look very effective and colourful. Today we finished off your papyrus paper and added some hieroglyphic messages, I wonder who can read them? This week we are learning about Tutankhamun and the discovery of his tomb. This will allow us to practise our note taking skills and report writing.

We are continuing to work on Numbers to 1000 for another week or so then moving onto subtraction, in reading we are going to try and get our ‘Reading Aloud’ badge To get this we must read aloud a section of Green Eggs and Ham with rhythm and expression. We will be consolidating our understanding of verbs and nouns by identifying these in our reading books.

World Book Day

Thursday 1st March is World Book day, we will be pairing up with Primary 7 to read our favourite books and to complete some exciting activities. Please bring in your favourite book to share with your reading partner on Thursday. There is a group of Primary 6 pupils who are organising a book sale on Thursday, please have a look through your books at home and see if there are any you no longer read and could donate to the sale. Remember to take some money with you on Thursday to buy some books too!

Friday 9th March

Next Friday is an open afternoon, here Parents will see a short Scots assembly followed by a look at all our wall displays and yearbooks. We hope as many parents as possible can make it along.
