  1. Dan Petro Visit Feedback–Same information was presented. Attendance was lower than the first parent session. Content was good and appreciated by parents who missed the first session. Dan also made observations in the classrooms and passed on feedback to staff which was valuable.

ACTION: -Ask Jennyne if she could follow up unanswered questions from the questions submitted. (Parents liked the opportunity to ask questions and some parents appreciated the chance to ask them anonymously.)

NB: Paul Newcombe Sensory Talk was well attended by parents from all three CEW primary schools. Information presented was great for parents and teaching staff. St Francis Staff have since had another session with Paul and are thinking about sensory equipment they would like in the classrooms.

ACTION: - Staff could present a wish list to St Francis PFN

  1. PFN Wish List – Fundraising Goals & Grant Application Ideas : -
  2. Grant application idea – School area mapped as an Orienteering Map. Could use an aerial photo to create a map for students. Sharon Tobin created a course a few years ago. Would be good to do orienteering as a school activity.
  3. Larger Fridge
  4. Pick up lane shelter
  5. Entire redesign of the pickup lane, student waiting area (which can be like a bottle neck) and car parking. Moving cars are a safety issue.
  6. PFN would like to know what the teachers want for Sports Days and what Sensory items are wanted for the classrooms. Would be good to be able to share with the school community what we are working towards.
  1. Using our PFN Parents & Friends Skills Set Data Base: –

ACTION: Nat and Jane will inform teachers and parent reps of all the skill categories available. If assistance is required - ask Nat or Jane.

  1. Idea – Electronic Notice Board at Pick Up Lane – Item added to next agenda.
  2. Jump Rope for Heart – August 18th – Nat raised the idea of PFN organising a healthy lunch.

ACTION:- PFN decided to provide cut oranges for students. Suzie is able to donate some oranges. Other families may be able to donate some oranges as well. Kylie will organise the collecting and cutting of oranges.

  1. Working with Children Checks – Will be required for all contractors and parent helpers. PFN will provide step by step instructions and encourage parents to complete the free check around Week 8 at Assembly and Parent Teacher Interviews. Could have an info booth set up. Parents will need to lodge paperwork at a Post Office. There is no cost involved.

ACTION:- Volunteer needed to prepare a flyer with instruction
