PRESTWICK ACADEMY SCHOOL COLOURS

Prestwick Academy is proud of the wide and varied range of activities that our young people are involved in both in and outside school. We aim to show recognition of commitment and outstanding achievement in these activities through our school colours programme.

Below are some examples of different achievements and their corresponding award levels. These are purely for guidance and any applications should be supported by any evidence available.

Citizenship Colours
House Award
  • Emma has achieved her Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award
  • Robert has volunteered at a local charity event as part of his participation with the Boys Brigade which he has been attending for 5 years.
  • Sarah has completed her Dance Leaders qualification with Active Schools and has been leading Dance clubs in our feeder primaries for the past year.
Half Colours
  • Charlie has achieved his Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award.
  • Lynsey has supported her local charity at a variety of events over a 3 year period.
Full Colours
  • Darren has achieved his Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.
  • Chloe has achieved a Saltire Award for 100 hours volunteering.
/ Enterprise Colours
House Award
  • Harry has represented the school debating team.
Half Colours
  • Heather has represented the school debating team at a National Competition.
  • Andrew has represented the school Young Enterprise team at Regional and National Competition.
Full Colours
  • Rosie has demonstrated 4 years commitment to the Young Enterprise team.
  • Stephen has won the Donal Dewar Debate Competition.

Expressive Arts Colours
House Award
  • Melissa has been awarded a bronze level in her recent dance exam.
  • Gary was a member of the cast in the recent school show production.
  • Stuart has attended a local theatre group for 3 years.
Half Colours
  • Jennifer has been a member of the school choir for 3 years.
  • Aaron has achieved a Grade 5 in his ABRSM music exam.
Full Colours
  • Jamie showed outstanding commitment to school shows during which he played the lead in the most recent production.
  • Judith has performed in the West of Scotland Orchestra over a sustained period.
  • Megan has achieved a Grade 8 in her recent ABRSM music exam.
  • Johnathan has gained Membership while dancing at Grade 5 level.
/ Sports Colours
House Award
  • Sarah has completed her Dance Leaders qualification with Active Schools and has been leading Dance clubs in our feeder primaries for the past year.
  • David has played for the under 13 football team in all games throughout the 2016-17 session.
  • Holly has competed with the Ayrshire swimming team at recent inter-region competitions.
Half Colours
  • Ellie represented the school by playing for the netball team in S1, S2 and S3 to complete 3 years commitment.
  • Grant has represented the school by playing for the football team in S1, S3 and S4 to complete 3 years commitment.
  • Sarah won at her age group in the 800m in the recent south regional athletics championships.
Full Colours
  • Ben has represented Scotland at U17 and U19 level in competitive international Ice Hockey competitions.
  • Ellie has competed in Ice Skating competition for 11 years and has participated in British Championships in Level 8 competition in turn qualifying for the National Development Squad.
  • Andrew has completed 4 years commitment in the school football team playing at U13 in S1, U15 in S3 and Seniors in S4 and S5.
