La Vie en Rose – Final Project Pick 6

Read the following mini project proposals. Complete enough projects to come up with a minimum of SIX “points”. Be thorough and very VERY creative. Edith Piaf was an artist, above all else, so creativity and soulful reflection and imagination are key to proving you understand both her story and those who played a part in it. Please feel free to draw pictures, posters, models, make slide shows, videos etc for any of the following to accompany or in place of a written response. Remember your final work product is a CEMPA grade worth 15% of your total marking period grade. Exemplary effort is anticipated!!!

  1. The story of Edith Piaf is really just a series of dependences. Discuss why this is a true statement.This is a 5 paragraph essay. Do an outline and planning and it must be typed(3 points)
  2. Find the words of the song “Je ne regretterien” and show how the words paint a picture of Edith’s life. (2 points)
  3. Create Edith’s obituary and date it for the day after her death. Be creative.Please be sure it is in FRENCH! Be sure to research obituaries to know what should be included.(3 points)**
  4. Which of Edith’s protectors did her the most good? Explain why you think so. Prove your point by referring to the film, the characters, how they acted, interacted and what they said. This is a 5 paragraph essay. Do an outline and planning and it must be typed(3 points)
  5. Create a written and/or visual portrait of one of the following artists mentioned in the film. You will need to do some research on them to find your information. Be creative!:Montand, Cocteau, Marlene Dietrich, Ginger Rogers, Marlon Brando, Charlie Chaplin. (2 points)
  6. “Your voice is like the soul of Paris” this quote was said by Marlene Dietrich to Edith. Explain why you think she said this. Support your opinion impeccably!(2 points)
  7. The people in Edith’s entourage, are they all her friends? Explain? Are there people in the public eye today who have an entourage that is similar to Edith’s? Who? Why?5 paragraph essay(3 points)
  8. If Edith could perform a concert today, where would it be and what would it be like?Create a brief paragraph in English and a concert poster. (1 point)
  9. Create a timeline of the 10 most important moments in Edith’s life in your opinion. Present it creatively (PowerPoint/poster/video) describe the landmark moments in French use the past tense (imparfaitpasse compose). (3 points)**

These projects are due on Thursday March 24, 2016 and will constitute a 40 point CEMPA grade. YOU MUST do either 3 or 9 to receive credit.
