ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR

PRESTANDA™ SERIES 1 CEILING SYSTEM

PART 1 — GENERAL

1.1 Description of Work:

A.  Work Included: Provide Acoustic Dynamics, Inc. Prestanda™ Series 1 PR1 ceiling system where shown on architectural drawings, and as specified in this specification.

1.2 Quality Assurance:

A.  Acoustic Dynamics, Inc. Prestanda™ Series 1 PR1 ceiling products for this project shall maintain the quality as instituted by the architect.

B.  Design Criteria: Manufacture of Prestanda™ Series 1 PR1-4872-F shall be installed true and plumb to within manufacturing tolerance of 1/8” within 8’ of length.

C.  Product Construction: Cracking, tears, wrinkles and warpage will not be acceptable.

1.3 Submittals:

A.  Technical Data: Submit manufacturer’s data and installation instructions.

B.  Shop Drawings: Submit 4 copies of shop drawings showing all areas involved, attachment conditions and perimeter circumstances.

C.  Submittal Samples: Submit 1 product sample for approval by architect.

1.4 DELIVERY, STORAGE AND HANDLING

A.  Material must be stored and installed only in secured ambient environment (humidity min. 25% -max. 55%, temperature not to exceed 86 deg.)

B.  Windows, Doors and all wet-work must be completed before un-packaging and installation. Handle carefully to avoid damaging.

PART 2 — PRODUCTS

2.1 Acceptable Manufacturer:

2.2 Product Type

A.  Product: Prestanda™ Series 1 PR1 ceiling system shall be product: PR1-4872-F

Nomenclature for PR1-4876-F

PR1 = Prestanda™ Series 1

4876 = a panel 48” x 72”

F = 1-1/16” thick substrate

B.  Size: Prestanda™ Series 1 shall be provided in a panel size of: ___” x ___” (e.g. 48” x 72”) and 1-1/16” thick.

C.  Color: System shall consist of standard white (custom factory colors are available if specified).

D.  Fire Rating: Panels shall achieve a Class A(1) fire rating—Flame Spread <25; Smoke Developed<450.

E.  Substrate material shall be manufactured with no added urea formaldehyde (NAUF) within any components.

F.  Suspension System: Ceiling system shall be suspended according to manufacturer’s suggested method of suspension as per the design details provided in the shop drawings.

PART 3 — EXECUTION

3.1 Installation

A.  Prestanda™ ceiling system shall be handled and installed with care in order to prevent surface and structure damage.

B.  All material must be stored flat and allowed to acclimate to room conditions for 72 hours prior to installation.

C.  The ceiling system shall be suspended according to manufacturer’s suggested method of suspension as per the design details provided in the plans. Panels suspend from either:

1.  Acoustic Dynamics supplied aluminum grid and Acoustic Dynamics supplied torsion springs and saddle grid clips
or

2.  contractor supplied and installed HD T-grid using Acoustic Dynamics supplied FP5 hangers
or

3.  contractor supplied and installed HD T-grid using Acoustic Dynamics supplied torsion springs and saddle grid clips

D.  The contractor shall follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions as provided by Acoustic Dynamics, Inc.

PART 4 — WARRANTY

4.1 Product Warranty

A.  Acoustic Dynamics, Inc. shall warranty the Prestanda™ ceiling panels against manufacturer’s defects up to one year. Changes in finish or dimensions due to ultra violet light, excessive temperature or humidity conditions [see 1.4.A above] and/or abuse of any kind shall void any warranties from Acoustic Dynamics, Inc.

B.  Install conditions for the area should remain for the proper occupied conditions of humidity and temperature (humidity min. 25% - max. 55%, temperature not to exceed 86 degrees).

C.  The contractor shall warranty all installation and structural connections for one year from final acceptance of completed work.
