Aachen, Germany, August 23rd 2012 – With 48,000 visitors from over 140 countries, the renowned International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) numbers among the world's most important technology fairs in the areas of broadcast and media entertainment. From the 7th to the 11th of September 2012, devolo presents its innovative Powerline solution for Sat>IP and in-house triple play distribution to the trade visitors at the RAI trade fair centre in Amsterdam. At Hall 14, Stand 452 in the 'Connected World' presentation area, the company is demonstrating new Powerline adapters with Diversity technology for the OEM area along with the latest developments in its dLAN®TV-SAT product world. As the global market leader in the Powerline segment, devolo bases this innovation on easy-to-integrate networking via the power line, which reliably enables all triple play applications and Sat>IP services throughout the home.

The new dLAN TV Sat multi tuner with integrated 500 Mbit Powerline adapter

With the new multi-tuner, devolo expands its dLAN TV Sat product line and supports the new Sat>IP standard (certification expected for fourth quarter 2012). The new standardisation for the IP-based satellite TV transmission makes it possible to receive the signals via set-top box as well as via tablets and smartphones for the first time. The devolo multi-tuner provides for reception of two satellite signals, so that two different TV stations can be simultaneously played and shown on different terminal devices. The system is designed for flexibility and extensibility. Already from the start, two multi-tuners can be operated simultaneously, so that signals are available for up to four playback devices at the same time. devolo relies on its tried-and-tested dLAN Powerline technology for transmission from the tuner to the terminal device or to the wireless hotspot. The multi-tuner already has an integrated adapter and so simply has to be connected to the mains supply in order to make its signal available at every power outlet in the house. Here, of course, the latest 500 Mbit technology is used, so that even 3D HDTV transmissions can be managed without any difficulty.

New Diversity technology guarantees improved Powerline network coverage

With the innovative Diversity technology, devolo ensures an even better connection between the dLAN Powerline adapters. The additional use of the mains supply earth wire enables, for the first time, a data communication via three instead of two physical lines. The result is an even higher data transmission performance, with maximum range and an improved Powerline network coverage in the entire building. All triple play applications in this way are reliably in every room of the house. Through the integration of this technology, devolo can significantly decrease the support effort for its OEM customers. All new adapters with Diversity technology are completely compatible with their predecessor models, so that within a migration phase, no additional costs are created.

New Wi-Fi adapter of the dLAN 500 generation with 5GHz support

Conceived as a dLAN Powerline adapter for all rooms, with many IT and consumer electronics devices, the dLAN 500 AV Wireless+ provides maximum connectivity, and, thanks to official Wi-Fi certification, absolute compatibility with all current Wi-Fi products. Cable-based, network-compatible terminal devices find a connection to the home network and the Internet via three Ethernet ports. The integrated Wi-Fi solution provides an optimal connection to laptops, smartphones and tablets. With the Wireless-N standard and the MIMO antenna design, a high-speed connection is available at any time for all mobile devices. In this regard, the adapter supports your choice of either the 2.4 or 5 GHz frequency band. Equipped in this manner, the dLAN 500 AV Wireless+ finds optimal application in living rooms and home offices. Unlike conventional Wi-Fi router solutions, it ensures highest-quality reception in these rooms, where mobile devices are heavily used. With the latest dLAN 500 generation, dLAN 500 AV Wireless+ provides a high transmission rate. The integrated electrical socket with mains filter optimises data transmission and prevents disturbing interference.

Internet via LTE: Simple networking with Powerline

LTE is the standard for fast broadband Internet via the mobile wireless network. The dLAN LTE router provides for a simple networking of this Internet connection. Through additional dLAN adapters in the building, all desired IT or consumer electronics devices are connected to the broadband mobile phone network. The flexibility of the Powerline technology additionally enables an ideal positioning in the building, so that optimal LTE reception is guaranteed. The dLAN LTE adapter with USB interface supports all common LTE and UMTS data modems and broadband wireless standards (LTE800, LTE1800, LTE2600, UMTS and GSM) and can be set up with particular ease.
