Service-Learning/Volunteer Options Spring 2018

Student instructions for forming a volunteer partnership:

  1. Do your research: Decide on a few organizations that might interest you before making any calls.
  2. When you call the organization, identify yourself, your college, your class, and your professor. Tell them why you’re calling: what are your volunteer requirements are and when you need to complete them by? Find out if you’re a good match for each other: are they currently in need of a volunteer? Do they have hours you can manage? What would you be doing? Etc.
  3. If the organization agrees to take you on as a volunteer, provide them with a copy of your course syllabus.
