ADDITIONAL NOTES
For the best results when distributing your press release, always send 1, 2 or 3 (maximum) high res images with it. These ideally should be a company logo, a product shot of what you’re exhibiting and perhaps a headshot of the person quoted in the release or an image of your exhibition stand. Images should be 300dpi and measure 10cm x 10cm as a minimum. However, file sizes need to considered, ideally each image should be approx. 1Mb.
Other hints & tips:
- Use a standard font with 1.5 line spacing for easy reading.
- Don’t waffle, be to the point and get your main hooks in the first couple of paragraphs.
- Proof read and proof read again. Print it out: often you can pick up things on paper that you miss on screen. Spelling mistakes or poor grammar will put editors off.
- Do your research and send it to the right person i.e. the editor, not an advertising executive. Also, UK Construction Week has a number of media partners who will be running dedicated preview features in their magazines, so try to time/target these publications for maximum exposure.
- Some publications might respond to your press release with an editorial or advertorial offer. If you have budget to push your release, these might be worth considering in order to reach a wider audience.
