PRESS RELEASE

It is the constant endeavor of Delhi Traffic Police to ensure safety and smoothness on Delhi roads. Putting a step ahead in this direction, Delhi Traffic Police is introducing the Traffic Patrol Scheme to patrol important corridors. A fleet of 200 motorcycles with accessories such as PA system and Siren has been inducted on pilot basis by Sh. Tajendra Khanna, Hon’ble LG Delhi, in a special function at India Gate on 7th February, 2008 during the function Sh. Y.S. Dadwal, CP/Delhi and other senior police officers were also present.

Traffic Police Officials on motorcycle shall remain mobile keeping a check on traffic violators. These officials have been specially trained to chase and prosecute the violators while patrolling between the corridors allocated to them. The main objective of this scheme is to keep a check on traffic violations committed between corridors where drivers try to get away unnoticed. Besides prosecuting the violators, these motorcycle bound officials will clear off any kind of hindrance that may occur due to an accident/breaking down of vehicle or any other untoward situation thereby ensuring smooth flow of traffic. They will regulate bus stand discipline by both bus drivers and commuters, and also check other visible offences such as Lane indiscipline, overtaking from left, zig-zag driving, unauthorized parking, triple riding, riding without helmet, defective number plate, driving on wrong side, beggars/hawkers, red light jumping, using mobile phone, without seat belt, jay walking by pedestrians etc.

On the occasion a fleet consisting of 121 PCR Patrol Riders was also inducted. The PCR Patrol shall take care of law and order, specially in busy market places and other important corridors. They shall be under the charge of PCR and shall assist in reducing response time in attending the calls. The staff shall be provided by concerned police stations. Their services shall be utilized to attend PCR calls in such areas where PCR vans are unable to reach due to congestion or otherwise.

One arrested for murder:- Nand Nagri Police have arrested one Rinku, 19 years R/o Vill Mahav, P.S. Siyana, Distt. Bulandshahar, U.P. in connection with murder of a boy Dharmender. A classmate of deceased has already been arrested in this case. The body of Dharmender was found near Railway Phatak, Ashok Nagar on 26.1.2008. During investigation it was found that to meet the financial need Rinku connived with the classmate of deceased to kidnap Dharmender. When the alleged found no place to hide Dharmender they killed him and dumped the body near railway phatak, Ashok Nagar. Accused Rinku has also been found previously involved in criminal cases registered against him in U.P. Investigation is in progress.

Auto thief arrested :- Man Sarover Park Police arrested one auto thief yesterday. According to DCP/North-East Office, the accused Raees, 20 years R/o Halwai Chowk, Loni, was arrested from LIG Flat Loni Road and recovered a stolen scooter from his possession. The scooter was found stolen from Geeta Colony, Delhi.

In another case Man Sarover Park Police also arrested four persons namely Rajesh 21 years R/o Jagat Puri , Jeevan Singh 27 years, R/o Janta Flat, GTB Enclave, Vijay Singh 32 years Jagat Puri and Pappu 30 years R/o New Modern Shahadara while they were gambling in a street at New Modern Shahdara. Playing cards and stake money Rs. 8,750/- have been recovered from their possession.

TWO YEAR OLD KIDNAPPED BOY RESCUED: KIDNAPPER LADY ARRESTED

INTRODUCTION

With the arrest of a lady namely Mohitan @ Anjali, aged 32 years, w/o Shibunandi, r/o Virar, Mumbai, Maharastra, the South District Police has successfully rescued a 2 year old kidnapped boy namely Mohit from her possession.

INCIDENT & TEAM

On 23.10.2007, complainant Sh. Rajbir Singh reported in the Police Station Chittranjan Park regarding kidnapping of his 2 year old son namely Mohit from the premises No. E-39, Greater Kailash-II, New Delhi, where he used to do the job of tailoring. He further complaint that a lady namely Mrs. Mohitan @ Anjali used to visit his tailoring shop for stitching of clothes for the last 5-6 months. On 22.10.2007 at about 5.00 p.m., she came to his shop, while his son Mohit was also playing there. She also started playing with his son but he sensed no foul smell in that. As he got busy with his other customers and later on he found that his son was missing. He suspected that Mrs. Mohitan @ Anjali might have kidnapped his son. Accordingly a case of kidnapping was registered in the Police Station C.R. Park and the investigation of the case entrusted to SI Hari Prakash, Ct. Sanjeev led by Inspr. Anil Dureja, SHO/C.R. Park under the supervision of Sh. G. Ram Gopal Naik, ACP/Greater Kailash.

INVESTIGATION

During the course of investigation all possible efforts were made to trace Mr. Mohitan @ Anjali, but no success could be achieved. It was learnt that Mohitan @ Anjali used to work as maid in the same vicinity i.e. Greater Kailash-II, but during the investigation no whereabouts of that accused lady could be known. Further investigation made by the Police team in the case revealed that the lady Mohitan @ Anjali belongs to District Nadia (West Bengal). Accordingly police team was sent to West Bengal to apprehend the accused lady and to rescue the kidnapped boy. But inspite of best efforts made by the team the accused lady could not be traced. However, Police team achieved success in tracing the brother of lady who was interrogated at length and analysis of his mobile phone was also carried out and it transpired that her brother has received a call from Mumbai for which he could not give any satisfactory reply. Another call received by him from Pune was also traced by the Police team.

On this Police team went to Mumbai and Pune and searched the places from where the call was made to suspects brother and the same was located at Nala Sopara East near Virar, Mumbai, which happened to be a STD booth. The enquiry made from the owner of the STD Booth confirmed that the call was made by a lady. However, no other clue could be provided by the owner of STD booth. The team continued its efforts in that area i.e. Virar, Mumbai. Many persons were contacted over there to know whether there was any lady of darker complexion in their area, who had recently shifted and was having a boy of fair complexion, aged 2 years. This strategy of Police worked out and information was received that the lady of such description has recently shifted in ‘Sainath Chaal, Krishna Nagar, Nala Sopara East, near Virar, Mumbai, who has got a baby of fair complexion with her. The team immediately rushed for that place and succeeded in apprehending the lady and rescued the kidnapped boy Mohit from her possession.

INTERROGATION

During the course sustained interrogation the accused lady Mohitan @ Anjali revealed that she was physically incapable to deliver birth to a child as such she was desperate to have a child whom she could nurture in the future. When she saw Mohit, she started loving him and started making plan to kidnap him, which she executed as soon as she got the chance. After kidnapping, Mohit, she kept on changing the places frequently and at last she got temporarily settled at Virar, Mumbai with her husband from where she was apprehended.

TWO GANGS OF ROBBERS BUSTED : 10 ROBBERS ARESTED: FIRE ARMS RECOVERED.

INTRODUCTION

The South District Police has launched a special drive against the gangs of robbers active in the area of South District. During the drive the Police teams of different Police Stations of South District Police has arrested 10 robbers in two different incidents namely I) Vinay Kumar s/o Sant Ram r/o Andrews Ganj, Delhi, ii) Kundan S/o Khem Chand r/o Rishi Nagar, K.M. Pur, Delhi, iii) Vijender @ Commando s/o Ram Lal r/o Village Saidpur, Hasoli Police Line, Ghaziabad, U.P., iv) Dalbir Singh @ Dandi s/o Nandan Singh, r/o Begabond, Delhi, v) Satyender @ Sattye s/o Basant r/o Aliganj, Kotla Mubarakpur, Delhi, vi) The Police has also recovered 2 country made pistols with 3 live cartridge, 3 button actuated knives, 2 iron rods, 1 torch and one chilly powder packet from their possession.

INCIDENT –I

In order to keep a check on the incidents of robberies in the area of South District, a special drive has been launched against such gangs, who are active in crime of robbery in the different areas of South District. In this process on 6.2.08, the Police team of PS K.M. Pur comprising of SI Vijay Pal Dahiya, HC Dayaram, Cts. Subhash, Shyam Prakash, Sushil, Hans Raj, Mahender led by Inspr. Ombir Singh Bhati, SHO/K.M. Pur received an information that a gang of robbers comprising of 5 members with arms would assemble at Thyagraj Stadium, K.M. Pur at about 6.30 p.m. to plan robbery of cash from a Mother Dairy at Kidwai Nagar. The Police team developed the information further and conducted a raid at the above said place and apprehended 5 robbers namely I) Vinay Kumar ii) Kundan, iii) Vijender @ Commando, iv) Dalbir Singh @ Dandi s/o Nandan Singh, v) Satyender @ Sattye when they were planning to rob cash from the Mother Dairy at Kidwai Nagar. On their personal search the police team recovered 1 country made pistol with live cartridge from the possession of Vinay, 2 button actuated knives one each from Kundan and Vijender @ Commando, 1 iron rod was recovered from the possession of Dalbir Singh @ Dani and 1 packet of red chilly powder was recovered from the possession of Satyender @ Sattye. Accordingly they were arrested under Arms Act.

On their interrogation the Police team revealed that Vinay Kumar is the gang leader who was found involved in about 5 cases of theft and Arms Act. Kundan is involved in a case of theft and Arms Act. Dalbir and Vijender @ Commando are also found in two cases of Arms Act. Satyender @ Sattye is also found in two cases of theft and in one case of attempt to murder at PS K.M. Pur.

INCIDENT –II

In another incident on 31.1.08, the Police team of PP Govindpuri, PS Kalkaji, comprising of SI Upender Singh, I/C PP Govindpuri, SI Balbir Singh, HCs Desh Raj, Vinay Pal, Cts. Ved Parkash, Jitender and Kishan Singh while performing patrolling duty in the area received an information that a gang of robbers comprising of 5 members with arms would assemble at DDA Park near Pocket A-14, Kalkaji Extension at about 7.35 p.m. to plan a dacoity to loot cash from a ‘Desi Liquor Theka’, Govindpuri, A Block, Transit Camp. The Police team developed the information further and conducted a raid at the above said place and apprehended 5 robbers namely Pappu Khan, Sanjay Kumar, Shanker @ Chinnu, Abdul Rehman @ Naushad and Vijay @ Bunty, while they were planning to commit robbery in the running buses. On their personal search the police team recovered 1 country made pistol with two live cartridge from the possession of Pappu Khan, 1 button actuated from the possession of Sanjay Kumar, 1 iron rod from the possession of Shanker @ Chinnu, 1 torch from Abdul Rehman @ Naushad and one piece of plastic rope from the possession of Vijay Bunty Accordingly they were arrested under Arms Act.

INTERROGATION

On their sustained it is found that Pappu Khan is the gang leader of this gang and found involved in one case of theft and one case of robbery. Sanjay Kumar is the BC of Sangam Vihar. Shanker @ Chinnu is found involved in a case of Arms Act whereas Vijay @ Bunti is found involved in a case of Arms Act.

RECOVERY

1.  Two country made pistols with 3 live cartridges.

2.  Three button actuated knives.

3.  Two iron rods.

4.  One Torch.

5.  One chilly powder packet.

MURDER CASE OF MADANGIR SOLVED:

ACCUSED ARRESTED WITH WEAPON OF OFFENCE

INTRODUCTION

With the arrest of one Dinesh aged 42 years s/o late Shri Jagdish Prasad r/o K-116, Dakshin Puri, New Delhi (permanent resident of Kothwali, Mathura Cantt, U.P.), the South District Police has solved a sensational murder case of one Sanjay r/o Dakshin Puri, New Delhi and recovered weapon of offence.

INCIDENT

On 30.01.2008, an information was received from Trauma Centre, AIIMS that one Sanjay Singh Negi has admitted in Trauma Centre, AIIMS after having injury in a quarrel. On this information, SI K.P. Sah from PS Ambedkar Nagar rushed to the hospital and victim Sanjay Negi was found ‘unfit’ for statement. The eye-witness viz. Raj Kumar @ Raju s/o Hari Chand r/o C-1/876, Madangir, New Delhi was found present in the hospital, who got his statement recorded stating therein that he has a furniture shop at the aforesaid address where Sanjay Negi works as a Carpenter. Accused Dinesh also works there on casual basis as a sofa maker. On 30.01.2008 at about 12 noon, Dinesh went Sanjay Negi to take a blade, on which both had arguments and started abusing. They involved in a scuffle, during which Dinesh picked up his scissor and stabbed the same at the chest of Sanjay Negi. Thereafter, accused Dinesh managed to run away from the spot. Immediately, a case u/s 307 IPC was registered at PS Ambedkar Nagar and investigation taken up. Senior officers, Crime team and photographer also inspected the scene of crime. On 03.02.2008, injured Sanjay Negi succumbed to his injuries and the section of offence was amended to 302 IPC and his postmortem was got conducted at AIIMS Trauma Centre Mortuary.

TEAM & ARREST

A team consisting of Inspector J.S. Mehta, SI K.P. Sah, Constables Banwari, anil, Dinesh, Devender, Sunil, Subhash and Suresh under the leadership of Inspr. Subhash Tandon, SHO/Ambedkar Nagar and under the supervision of Dr. G. Ram Gopal Naik, ACP/Greater Kailash was formed to arrest the culprit. Raiding parties were dispatched to various places of his possible hideouts like Mathura, Sangam Vihar and on 05.02.2008, on the basis of a secret information accused Dinesh was arrested from Dhobi Mohalla, Nimakka Katra Kumar Gate, Bharatpur, Rajasthan. He was produced before the Court and two days ‘Police Custody Remand’ was obtained. On his disclosure and pointing out, the weapon of offence i.e. scissor has also been recovered.
