The following scene is known to us all: summer, sunshine, life at the beach. People stay in the warm, shallow water and enjoy the time they spend there. Not everyone swims energetically in deeper water, or if they do, it is just for a short time …
How can this quality of living be replicated at home? This is the question pool design experts, the “water-shape designers”, around the worldask themselves. “Life on the shore line”: both wet and dry living areas merge together; terrace furniture is reflected in shallow water. Cool your hands and feet – stay and relax in and around the water. Or have fun getting fit - whichever you prefer.
These ideas flowed into the construction of the new “WetLounge” from RivieraPool. A prefabricated pool, never seen before in this form. In purely factual terms, this area of shallow water is an extension to the pool by one or two metres, with a water depth of 15cm. From the design point of view, however, it is an enrichment in the form of a 2-metre-long water surface. And that has a great effect, it is calming and tasteful. As far as emotions are concerned the WetLounge gives an increased quality of living, because with it both wet and dry living areas merge. People are happy to put their chairs or loungers in the shallow water and to enjoy the special flair radiated by a lagoon like this. With its dimensions of 3.7 x 2 m, the WetLounge provides a large area for placing furniture or decorative features. Then when the underfloor roller-shuttersclose over the water, the furniture comes back “on land” and the pool is securely covered.
To provide safe entry, two sets of steps are available: the new “Linear RS” is a comfortable set of 4 steps with an integrated shutter shaft which accommodates the complete pool roller shutter. This is equipped nowadays with polycarbonate slats, as this material is hail-resistant and heat-insulating.
It allows solar energy through into the water, which brings some completely cost-free degrees of warmth into the pool on each sunny day. Two skimmers on the surface of the water provide the necessary degree of cleanliness. Underneath, two inlet nozzles drive water through the shutter shaft.
On the other side there is an unobtrusive set of five corner steps, the “Ancona”. This new set of steps is smoothly integrated and has an anti-slip profiled surface. It provides an elegant and safe link between the shallow water zone and the swimming area of the pool. This leaves enough lateral room for flow and water massage installations and at the same time, of course, it keeps the full length of the pool for swimming.
The creative highlight in all this is the shallow water area, which can be illuminated with LED lights like a lagoon. A fire bowl in the middle of the water completes this atmosphere and creates a calming and decorative effect.
In this way several elements can be enjoyed together: this is where water and fire meet. Cleanly, with bioethanol flames and decorative “ice” from broken glass stones. Then the pool suddenly becomes the atmospheric centre of the garden, a new living area where relaxation and fitness are combined.
