THE CLUB ANNUAL DINNER AT THE GLAZIERS HALL 13.OCTOBER 2015.

I am pleased to be able to tell you that your Committee has now put in place the final brick to enable us to issue this invitation for the above Dinner.

The Rt Honourable Michael Fallon, Secretary of State for Defence and MP for Sevenoaks has kindly agreed to be our Guest Speaker thanks to the good offices of our President Chris Grayling. Mr Fallon attended Epsom College, his father being a Surgeon and as a “Local Boy” his presence at our Dinner is doubly welcome.

The Glaziers is the only Livery Company to have a Hall south of the river. Indeed it overlooks the Thames from the south side and is literally a “stone’s throw” from London Bridge and the Railway Station. The River Room where we will be dining offers spectacular River views of the City and accommodates 100 guests.

The Black Tie evening will commence with a reception at 6.45pm followed at 7.30pm by a three course meal including wine. The menu is Starter: Potted Brown Shrimp, Pickled Cucumber, Lemon & Dill Dressing, and Buttered Pumpernickel. Main Course: Slow Cooked Beef Tenderloin, Confit Shallot & Smoked Cheddar Mash. Sweet: Apple & Blackberry with Cinnamon Ice-Cream, Coffee/Tea and Mints. The evening is of course free to members and the cost of tickets to guests will be £130. Coaches will be laid on both ways at an additional cost of £10 per person. Carriages will be approximately 10.15 pm which should ensure a return to Ashtead-the coach pick up point- by 11.15pm.

A number of our members have a deep interest in Foreign Affairs and Defence in particular which is one of the reasons we sought Michael Fallon as our speaker. As a result we expect the evening will be a great success and demand for tickets high. So dear members I would urge and encourage you to complete and return to our Hon. Sec. David Collins the slip below to ensure that you are included in the evening.
