Hi everybody,
One more weekend and the season is over. Summer really flew by! But I guess when you are constantly on the go and trying to find time to do everything that needs to be done, it does get away from you.
Let’s talk briefly about the GBRA show. It was a big success. We made a $2000 profit on it! WooHoo!
Now if you have any suggestions for next year, make those known. Hoosier Horse Park has already been reserved for next year, September 2-3-4th 2011.
Scooter raffle, although it got off to a very shaky start, some girls rallied for all of us and sold,sold,sold those tickets and we actually ended up with a $873 profit. Nice job girls!!! Debbie Owens won the scooter, Anna Long’s grandson took 2nd prize, and Heidi York took 3rd prize. Congrats to everyone!
Jolene has a few sponsor books left. If you want one, see her. She didn’t order near as many this year, because of always having to throw so many away.
Sponsor jackets: If you got one, at some point in time, you were told it would cost you an additional $15. The jackets actually cost $65 a piece. GBRA only puts in $50 of that. So, please get your $15 to Jolene or to Cindy. There is a list and you will be contacted if you don’t get it paid. Thank you.

Congrats to all our girls who qualified and are going. It was voted upon at the meeting that the $721 that was made working at the state fair would be put towards the stall fees for these girls. That will pay all 11 in full.

Awards:
As soon as the $ amount for awards is finalized, Stephanie will let us know how much we have coming. If you have won 1st or 2nd in your division and you haven’t already talked to Stephanie, please contact her. She will need your name and your horses name for the buckles. I will be sending out a wish list to everyone that you can fill out and get back to Stephanie and she will purchase the awards or you can purchase your own. But remember if you purchase your own, you must turn in the item(s) and receipt(s) by the specified date(set later on) in order to be reimbursed. You will not be reimbursed for awards if you don’t.
CHILI SUPPER/TACK SALE
Remember we are having this fund raiser in November. The 13th of November actually. Angie is taking care of putting a menu together and she will be getting ahold of the membership for donations towards that menu. Chad Bricker is again doing the tack part and he had some really nice items last year. There will also be $10 tables for any one to bring their own items to sell. So mark it on your calendars, you want to be there if at all possible, it was a fun night!
We are not having an October meeting, but will have a meeting before the chili supper. So Nov. 13th 2PM is our next meeting. At the Kempton Community building. Be there or be square. This is an important meeting! We will be appointing the 2011 show coordinator. Plans will be firmed up for the awards banquet.
AND
we will firm up plans for the December Christmas party/ election meeting. See that? Election meeting. If you don’t like how this club is run, if you just don’t like the girls who have stepped up and taken care of business, if you want to be a doer, not a sitter, then you need to be at this event. You need to let people know you want to be an officer or on the board of directors. Let me know, I’ll nominate you! All offices and 6 BOD positions are up for grabs. And just so there is no doubt in any ones minds, I will be leaving this office. So you all will have to come up with a new secretary!!!! So even though we eat and exchange gifts and gossip and laugh, we also have alot of business to cover and it’s important for everyone to attend.
