Steven F. Mosshart AIF®

President & Chief Investment Strategist

Steve Mosshart has been in the investment industry since 1986, founding StraightLine in 2002 after 16 years with major Wall St. firms. His 29 years of experience in money management and fiduciary care of his clients has led to this exceptional stand-alone company.

In 1999 he recognized the need for active management of 401(k) and 403(b) accounts and, with the Department of Labor’s long-awaited 2001 ruling that allowed independent advice and management for company sponsored retirement plans, saw the opportunity to offer plan retirement investors the kind of research and active allocation previously offered to those investors with substantially higher balances.

As Chief Investment Strategist, his duties include setting overall investment policy, reviewing and approving all institutional research tools, overseeing all research communication, supervising all trading and providing the macroeconomic data for committee discussion.

Mr. Mosshart has attended numerous advanced investment programs over the years earning several honors at the largest Wall Street firms. In 2006 and 2009 he was chosen as one of 70 investment managers worldwide to attend the CFA Investment Management Workshop at Harvard Business School. He also has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ professional designation, awarded by the Center for Fiduciary Studies, which is associated with the University of Pittsburgh’s Center for Executive Education in 2007.
