Personal data policies

We intend to use your name, company name, position, phone number, correspondence and email addresses for the direct marketing of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM)’s training courses, events and publications. However, we will not do so without your consent.

Order Confirmation

  • Payment must accompany the booking form. Please make cheque payable to: “Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management Ltd” and addressed to: “Suite 1503, 68 Yee Wo Street, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong”. Please state your full name, contact number and email address on the back of the cheque.
  • Payment deadlines: 30 April, 2018 (Table Reservation and Advertising in Event Booklet).
  • Confirmation of reservation and/or advertising booking will only be made upon receipt of full payment.
  • Priority of table reservation and advertising booking will be given to corporate member in case of overwhelming response.
  • The HKIHRM does not undertake to review the contents of any Advertisement and any such review of and/ or approval by the HKIHRM will not be deemed to constitute an acceptance by the HKIHRM that such Advertisement is provided in accordance with these Conditions nor will it constitute a waiver of the HKIHRM’s rights hereunder. If the HKIHRM considers it necessary to modify the position of insertion or make any other alteration it shall notify the Advertiser of this as soon as it reasonably can.
  • If advertising looks, in the HKIHRM’s opinion, like editorial material, the HKIHRM may publish it under the heading ‘Advertising’ with a border distinguishing it from editorial.
  • HKIHRM reserves the right to interpret, alter and amend any of these Conditions and to issue Supplementary Conditions and House Rules at any time they consider necessary.
  • All interpretations of these Conditions and any Supplementary Conditions by the HKIHRM shall be final.

Liability

  • The HKIHRM will exercise reasonable care and skill in the handling and publishing of the Advertisement but where the Advertisement is not published in the manner specified in the Contract, whether through any failure or negligent act or omission on the part of the HKIHRM or any third party, the HKIHRM’s maximum liability to the Advertiser shall be limited (at the option of the HKIHRM) to either:

(a) publishing the Advertisement (or a replacement Advertisement if provided by the Advertiser) as soon as is reasonably practicable in the period following the period during which the Advertisement was scheduled to run; or

(b) refund to the Advertiser the amount of any payment made for the Advertisement concerned.

The HKIHRM shall not be liable for any indirect, special or consequential loss or damage arising from any failure to publish an Advertisement as agreed with the Advertiser, including, but without limitation, any late or incorrect publication, any non-publication or inaccurate reproduction of the Advertisement, whether caused by the HKIHRM’s error or negligence or by any reason whatsoever. The HKIHRM shall not be liable whatsoever in respect of any error or omission in respect of publishing the Advertisement which is not notified to the HKIHRM in writing on or before April 16, 2018.

Cancellation Policies

  • No refund will be granted on cancellation of confirmed table reservation.
  • No-shows will incur the full cost of table reservation.
  • In case the advertiser wishes to withdraw from advertising in the event booklet, it shall serve notice to the HKIHRM in writing prior to April 16, 2018.
  • 50% of all advertising fees will be forfeited for cancellations on or before April 16, 2018. No refund will however be given after April 16, 2018.
  • If you do not supply the advertising materials by April 30, 2018, the HKIHRM may not be able to publish your advertising. You will still be liable for the price quoted in the invoice.
  • The HKIHRM reserves the right to reject any table reservation and/or advertising booking at any point in time.
  • The HKIHRM reserves the right to cancel or alter the content, timing, and venue of the event.
  • Should the event cancellation become necessary, the HKIHRM will attempt to notify registrants at least one week prior to the scheduled event start date.
  • If the event is cancelled due to any unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather or natural disaster, the HKIHRM is not responsible for any expenses incurred by the registrant.
  • If the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is lowered at or before 12 noon, the event will be reopened two hours after the signal is lowered. Registrants may visit the website: for the announcement of bad weather arrangements.
  • The event will, however, be re-scheduled if the Typhoon Signal No. 8 or Black Rainstorm Warning Signal is lowered after 12 noon. The HKIHRM will inform the registrants of the rescheduled date as soon as possible.
