1. President’s Address
Meeting opened 7:15pm
Thanks for coming. Showing interest in Assn and trying to take us forward. Not about setting up things in cement and initiating change. No rep discussion. Not all Clubs are represented.
2.Items for Discussion
a,.Community Liaison Officer –TI
Ana in the role.Nothing done to date. Don’t think this position is warranted. Have financie committee if players in financial hardship. Peopel don’t have forward with issues. Exec are happy to assist famiies. Clubs cover players with fianical issues. Harder with smaller Clubs. KB cover everything. Have offer discount. Ask for a contrinition.Happened twice as a Club. Would rather cover than have kids not play. Can remove from policies.
b.Decisions re regrading – TK
Clarification re: regrading. How and when it occurs. Discussed at exec. At end of first round when teams play each other once Clubs put requests and Committee reviews as well. Some cliubs did not in request. Rounds finish at different times. Teams are not all of equal ability to create 8 team didivions. Diferences between six team divisions. If they won one game they aren;tconisdred for regrading. Need to look at division below / aboveto move, one was 7 team and one was 8.Committee makes the decision. This is done within one week. Tight timeframe. Junior Committee met to discuss review. Decision was made late in the week. Clubs are gernally not consulted as some will refuse to move up. Club not winning game request will be put to the Grading Committee. It is a majority rule. TK have worked on policies. Get grading right from teh beginning. Late regos are lacking playing history. In MyNetball can Clubs see player history. Sallianne can see history. Can see Cliubs but not grades. Late regos coming after cut off to Assocation. Need criteria for Late rego.Will need to go through Club. Player hsitroy and reason for late rego. Understand issues that have arisen and decision pertaining to regrading. When moved losing in top and winning in bottom.
Number of teams; team coming 4th beat team coming 1st. Looking at S1 – only two teams requested.Came up with 3. Know teams were not of the level required. Highest placed team at the time. Georgians did not alert us of playing under after prov. Grading released . Both 14s and 15s go to S1. State League teams coming back to strengthen comp. Teams want to play for fun. Even number of teams in top division. Teams did not play for 5 weeks in 9s. Numerous forfeits received in low Seniordivs. Teams forfeiting are making semis. Forfeits no fine before 6pm. Afer 6:00pm - $20. Days 13 – 15: $40. Fines to be increased. How many players can you taken from below to play up. Only 2 players are permitted. Club to make team pay forfeit.
Should regrading happen at all? Spoke with NNSW about regrading at Balacktown, did this year but never again.
c.Grading
Open to suggestions to make things easy. TK looking to change.Where players play in a Rep team.2 players a year older. Not having that rule unless in first year of play. Some teams may be stacking teams. If they know hoiw teams will be graded they know. Consider boundaries on late registration to prevent stacking. More info needed.
Different people on Committees. People missed out because more applicants. More Clubs to be involved. Robyn was helping Jacqui.Want Clubs to support their policy changes.
d.Preliminary umpires and game allocations
Not have prelims on 9s. Too much happening on the 9s. Have both palyers and umpires learning. Too much pressure.As long as there is aexpereidnced umpire, it will be OK. Convenor to assist their umpires.Confusing for players.Hard for umpires learning as well. A lot more umpires to go around. Ana is to learn to umpire.
e.Payment for S1
LF put up. Is at $500 for premiers. Would like to double for next session and filter through senior divs. Have more players.State League players to come.Teams playing Div. 5 – 8 to play comp.
f.Wet Weather
Change wet weather rule. Timeslot by timeslot or make decision by Friday. Seems to be working. Like two timeslots. Struggle to have umpires. BBQ loses out re: fundraise. Pepeople will miss out. Allow Clubs to have precedence over Reps. Allow Ciubs to fundraise at another time. Eliminating by rounds.Happy to play in school holidays.
g.Canteen
Wnat to tender canteen. Times ot open for schools. Need to look at school calendar and will schools take it on. See it as a Saturday. Decimiate canteen because of BBQ.Don;t think we should put up fro tender. Pay more for supervision. Need to outline things specifically in the agree,ent. Hot food is an issue. Don;t go to hot food. Just keep theBBQ. Drinks and ice cream most money. Need to look for savings. Consider logistics of getting food there and back. Pies and sausage rolls $500 to purchase. If sell all $300 profit. Consider price increase. If no tender and pay more and get rid of coffee van and get machine in the canteen.Want a barista. Need to go to schools and ask if they want faciliaties. Put on court hires for canteen and toilets. No control over tender issue. Tendererwont’come back. Coffee is time consuming. Get $150 per day.Can sell through night comp. Need to do sums. Need to cost it. Tender $10,000. Need to consider WHS.David to put up sheet wtih costs. Have had to throw stuff out for summer comp. Wanting for pies for reduced to $2. Wastage is costly.Make decision by November at the latest. Paying Ibrahim more to take deliveries.Mariadoesn;t want do it. David needs to cost it re: volunteers. Paid supervisor – contractor and sub-contractor. Have Clubs rostered on. Did not work and profits were taken. One person on the register. Clubs used to do canteen, control and toilet duty.KB don’t like Clubs in there. 14 teams lots are parents.Should be easier for bigger Clubs. Parents need to step up. STG to keep control of canteen.Young girls to pay them. Can do as community service for school and sign off. Last year 4 clubs that did not show for control room duty.What if they don;t show.Send out reminders.Dont make profit on fresh sandwiches. Don;t have hot dogs. Stick to what sells. Run like a business. David to do budget.One person on register.Should not be up to committee to do, parents to help out.Can check projected costs. Pay as a remuneration.
h.Working wtihChildrens Check
Will have to do WWCC by April 2015.All personnel over 18 includiong. Free for volunteers. If you go online, details need to match on driver’s licence. Clubs should register with own Clubs to checking.
3. General Business
a.Complaints
Vests and PCPs - have something for each team to have crowd control Exec. going out regularly. Become as deterant.May not work.That;swaht they do in soccer. In charge of own team.Things are excelating. Umpries to talk to people in yellow. They are responsible. OA don;t feel comofrtiabnle. Club Exec want to be alerted. Not there to do anything. This person will need to be registered.David to find out what’s needed at scocer. Not looking for trouble. Young umpires to have support person. Badges getting abused.Needs to understand.Coach to take responsionility or manager. Sometimes things get heated which don’t involve umpire. Something not sure how is responsible for what. Need to manage their parents.Depends of their interest.
b.3pm umpire issue
Fine Clubs that aren;t supplying. Should be doing now. Not sure what’s doing. Clubs are not supplying. Supply one umpire per team. Don’t have level of umpires. Can’t retain umpires.Going to double figures in Badges.Umpries wanted 3 slots; need to rebuild. Will take a while to get through. RG and STU – don’t register teams. Not enough umpires. All Clubs are helping. Trying to improve numbers.SL and Rep players to umpire.Will be fine if they play for Geirigans.
c.Timeslots
Will need another time if continuing to grow. Start earlier at . No spare courts. Can move juniors to senior timeslots.May assist with umpires. Do junior players player later. 9-11s to play earlier.Anthing after 12s to play at any time. Need to consider growth. Parents want to know up front times. 9s could play on grass. ASC says comp starts at 10.
d.AdminAsst.
Has in by-law previously. Want to have someone on a Saturday. Can assist with iumpires.Can put it out there. It was a paid positon. Puts results in, print score sheets etc. To be done on a weekly basis. Timely to put draw on web.3-4 hrs.to put draw up. Want to watch the kids. Will put it. Rehash previous BLs. Trying to use people within Assn.
Want to use people wtih skills within the Assn. for rep room.
e.Photo cards
Functionality through MyNetball to upload. School ID card – speak to NNSW. Club, year. Ask someone to come in. Can do online registrations through Clubs.User name and pw. Can fix details themselves.Pay online. Have computer set there. Need organise training for Clubs.Organise training late Nov.
