All matters arising are covered in the agenda
Neighbourhood Improvement Programme 2008-09
  • David reported on progress on this year’s programme: all projects were either complete or on site.
  • Magdalene Door entry: on site
  • Craigmillar High Rise benches, trees plants: on site
  • Niddrie House Square painting: on site
  • Greendykes/Wauchope House: on site
Due to budget savings it has been possible to paint 2 additional stairs at
Niddrie House.
The budget allocation for 2008-09 has been met.
ProposedNeighbourhood Improvement Programme 2009-10
  • David circulated a list showing costings of potential projects as requested.
  • After consultation and some amendments it was agreed to proceed with the following proposals:
  • CraigmillarGardens High Rise: Hedging/fence for allotment = £7k
  • CraigmillarGardens Sheltered Housing: shrub planting in open space = £10k
  • Niddrie House: Wall removal = £40k
  • Niddrie Marischal Crescent: Benches, plants & signs = £8k

  • The Board approved the exploration of joint work with the Environment Forum on the following projects:
  • Niddrie Mill Terrace: upgrade land & move Celtic cross= max £35
  • Magdalene Drive: shop improvements = max £25
  • Bingham Broadway: Improve planters & road junctions. Further discussion required after Environment Forum Bus Tour.
There was no support for the proposals at Magdalene Avenue tarmac drying area and Christian Crescentto demolish garages.
