The Martin High School in Anstey have a great opportunity for the right candidate to join their PE Department as a PE Technician Apprentice.
Full description / The main purpose of the role is to provide support to the PE department in delivering curricular and extracurricular activities.
The Post holder will be expected to:
  • Prepare the gym, hall, playground and field for activity/sport sessions
  • Lead activity/sport sessions for individual and small groups of students in lessons and in extra-curricular clubs
  • Conclude and review activity/sport sessions
  • Promote health, safety and welfare
  • Support equality and diversity
  • Check and service activity equipment
  • Undertake a range of ICT duties: setting up equipment; capturing, editing and copying digital and video images; inputting and sorting data; create posters and power point presentations
  • Assist with the delivery of activity/sport lessons
  • Keep up to date with new developments and undertake training as appropriate
  • Contact a variety of external agencies to arrange transport and extra-curricular fixtures
Target audience could be A Level students taking time away from studies or an individual looking for a change in career path.

Monthly wage (at start) / £715.60(equates to £5.52 per hour) / Working Week / 32.5 hours per week (Term time only)
Monday – Friday
8:30-15:30 (30 minutes break)

Important other information / This position is Term time only. Wages will be pro-rated over the year. Actual monthly salary is £715.60 every month.
This post is eligible for a DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (exceptions) Order 1975 (i.e. it involves certain activities in relation to children and/or adults) and is defined as regulated activity under Part 1 of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.
As of the 1st April 2017 the Apprentice NMW is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
