All classes are open to Members and Non Members for TREC GB – but only paid up members will have their scores count in the TREC GB Winter Leagues.

Beechwood is a new equestrian competition centre. It has a superb new 60x25 indoor school and marvellous facilities. We are again using this venue for our winter series.

This is a two phase competition:

The MA Phase (control of paces) demonstrates the control and obedience of the horse. The MA takes place over 50m to 150m. The MA section is awarded 50% of the points accrued for the Winter Series.

The PTV course of 10 obstacles, simulated to represent those you might meet out hacking, designed to test the riding skills, the training of your horse and the accord between you.

EATG Refund policy: No entry will be refunded after the closing date except on the production of a medical or veterinary certificate to be shown within 5 days of the competition. £4 will be retained for administration costs.In the event of cancellation of the event a voucher will be issued for entry to other EATG TREC Events.If the venue is changed, if you are unable to attend, a voucher for entry for other EATG TREC events will be issued. All entries must be paid for before the event by cheque or bank transfer using the correct entry form.EATGs decisions regarding refunds are final. Every effort will be made to be flexible and reasonable. EATG is a non-profit organisation, but has to meet its costs for running events.

Beechwood TREC Classes

Class One: Top Score,Open to all. The Rider does the 10 obstacles, in order, in the first round. Then carries on with any obstacles (in the correct direction) including a chosen joker (which gets double points), but which can only be used up to 3 TIMES. There is no MA with this class. This is a good warm up class. This class will be split am and pm, so that newcomers can take part without having to wait all day to do classes 5 and 6.

Class Two:Intermediate Affiliated CompetitionHorse and rider combination not to have been placed 1st in two or more INTERMEDIATE classes, or to have won an Open class at WINTER TREC competitions prior to 1st October 2017. PTV obstacles equivalent to Level 2/3

Class Three: Open Affiliated Competition Open to all horses and riders. PTV obstacles equivalent to Level 3/4

Class Four: Pairs, Open to all. Both riders are in the arena at the same time. The first rider starts with MA Canter and then does 10 obstacles, they swap with a hi- five and the second rider does the ten obstacles and finishes with the MA Walk.

Class Five: Novice Horse Affiliated CompetitionOpen to HORSES that have not been placed 1st in two or more NEWCOMER or NOVICE classes, or to have won an Intermediate or an Open class at WINTER TREC Competitions prior to 1st October 2017. PTV obstacles equivalent to L1.

Class Six: Newcomer Rider Affiliated Competition. Open to RIDERS that have not been placed 1st in two or more NEWCOMER or NOVICE RIDER classes, or to have won an Intermediate or an Open class at WINTER TREC Competitions prior to 1st October 2017. PTV obstacles equivalent to Level 1

Class numbers will be restricted so please enter early to avoid disappointment. A waiting list will be kept.

The Winner of the Beechwood Leaguewill win a rug which has been generously sponsored by Beechwood Equestrian Centre.

Each of the Affiliated League Classes: 2,3,5 and 6 (above) will have their own national league.

League points will be awarded depending on finishing position: 10 points for 1st down to 1 point for 10th place.

The highest four scores will be counted for the league.In the event of equal positions after 4 events the position at a fifth event will be taken into account. If still equal the TOTAL actual PTV scores (from 4 events) will be taken into account.

GENERAL RULES & CONDITIONS

Placings will be decided with the rider gaining the highest combined score from the PTV and Control of Paces phases taking the first prize. In the event of equality the highest score from PTV will take precedence.

RULES AS PER THE TREC GB RULEBOOK AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD FROM

1. Competitions are open to all horses and ponies providing that they are a minimum of 4yrs of age.

2. Riders any age, juniors may ride horses and seniors may ride ponies.

3. No rider will be permitted to start any phase of the event unless wearing a hard hat, which meets current standard recommended by the BHS eg PAS 015,or ASTMF 1163 and bearing kite mark or SEI that is properly fitted and fastened with a chinstrap. See below***

4. Riders may choose to wear a body protector during any phase of the competition. If worn, Beta 3 standard is strongly recommended.

5. Tack & dress informal but safe. Riders must wear suitable riding footwear.

6. Standing Martingales and other fixed reins are forbidden. If a running martingale is used, horse must be led from head collar and lead rope for led PTV obstacles.

7. Whips must not exceed 75cms. Spurs, if worn, must be rounded, not exceeding 3.5cms in length and pointed downwards.

8. The judges and officials decision is final and must be complied with at all times. Uncorrected error on PTV course will result in a ZERO score for the PTV.

Elimination may result for any of the following reasons: Excessive use of whip, Abusive language, Dangerous riding,

***PLEASE NOTE THAT HATS THAT ARE STANDARD EN 1384ONLY CAN NO LONGER BE USED IN A TREC COMPETITION. Hats as stated above are acceptable. Check the rulebook for full list

Health and Safety

EATG East Anglia TREC group has taken all reasonable precautions to ensure the health safety and welfare of every one at these events. In order for these measures to be effective everyone should take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring and should obey the instructions of the organising officials and stewards.

Please ensure Horses/ponies are not left tied up without supervision outside the trailer and clear up any droppings, hay etc, (We want to be asked back!). All children to be supervised and dogs kept on a lead at all times.

Neither Beechwood Equestrian Centre, EATG nor TREC GB, acceptany responsibility for any accident, for loss or injury to person’s vehicles or animals how so ever caused. Please protect your valuables.

As the venue is not enclosed, please keep the gates closed. Please park sensibly making sure there is a through way.
