Pre-Season Golf Meeting – 2014

1)  Paperwork – Due by February 4th

a.  Parents will be able to fill out the paperwork at the TEE OFF DINNER also.

b.  There are a large number of players this year – get your paperwork in on time to ensure yourself a spot for try outs.

2)  The Scoop –

a.  Berkshire Valley will be our home course again this year!

b.  Conference Scheduling meeting is on Feb. 19th

c.  Parent/Golfer “Tee Off Dinner” – January 28th – 6:30 pm in Old Cafeteria

d.  First practice is Friday, March 7th

e.  Fundraisers – There will be 2 – Hoagie Sale and ONLINE GOLF AUCTION. You will receive further information at the “Tee Off” Dinner.

f.  Early season practices:

1.  INDOOR PRACTICES

-  Classroom - etiquette and quizzes

-  Wt. training inc. light lifting and stretching for flexibility

2. OUTDOOR PRACTICES

-  Birdie balls and chipping

-  Driving nets

-  Golf range – Willowbrook Golf Center

-  Practice rounds when possible (proper golf attire required)

3)  Matches

a.  Uniform

-  We provide Team Shirts and hats (if you want them)

-  You provide equipment (including balls), khaki pants (black and beige), skirts (for girls), and shoes.

-  There will be an online clothing store to order from available next week. See your upperclassman golfers for the form.

4)  Vacations

a.  There is a difference between a family vacation and a personal vacation. My personal feeling is that if you make a commitment to this team, you will be here EVERYDAY.

b.  If you are taking a vacation or will miss any time during the season, you need to go online, fill out the Vacation form and see Mr. Rosenberg. Mr. Rosenberg has the final say and I HAVE to do what he says!

5)  Travel Release form – if you need to leave with a parent or guardian from the course or anywhere else we may be and not return on the bus we came on, you need to fill out the travel release for that can be found on line.

6)  Student agreement – online – Fill it out with your parents. You are expected to abide by the rules stated in there. Any infraction that falls within the student guide, administration will be involved and THEY will make the final decision. BOTTOM LINE – DO THE RIGHT THINGS!

7)  Another sport – commit to KHS first, you will lose your varsity letter and sit if you choose club over KHS – by word of Mr. Rosenberg!!!

8)  Captains – will be chosen one week before our first interscholastic match. Criteria – attendance, leadership, ability, knowledge, and service– IN THAT ORDER.
