Pre-RALLY Check In Meetings

Check in meetings should be scheduled for in person or on a conference call. They should take place during the 3 weeks prior to the March 6th (north) and March 7th (south) Rallies.

Check-in Meeting Suggested Agenda:

  • Is everyone confident in following up with their network members? (If they want to practice, spend some time giving times or set up meeting with one of PACT staff who can help practice!)
  • Who does each person have confirmed to attend?
  • Has everyone talked to your network members in the past week to make sure they are still confirmed?
  • Let’s go through everyone’s list quickly and name off the people who are confirmed. Please say yes or no if they have talked to them/if they are confirmed for the RALLY - don’t stop to problem solve on each person as it will take too much time
  • Team member #1 (The team captain should begin with report)
  • Team member #2
  • Team member #3
  • Team member #4, etc…
  • What is the plan for the people that are not confirmed? When will each person call them and get them confirmed? (specific day during the week)
  • What is our transportation plan?
  • Confirm that you will meet again to check in next week (before or) after service

Invitation to RALLY Sample Script:

  • “Hi, how are you? I wanted to remind you that the second big assemblies of the justice ministry isMonday, March 6th (NORTH) OR Tuesday, March 7th (SOUTH) at 7:30pm, however we are planning to arrive at 7pm to sign in.
  • This is the rally - where we will prepare for the Nehemiah Action, hearing issue updates, knowing who is confirmed for the Nehemiah Action, and be united from across congregations for the largest assembly of the year. It is very important that all of our justice network members come out for the Rally.
  • I know that the ______(name community problem or their self interest) is one of the reasons that you are involved. You are still joining us that night, right?”

If Yes!

  • “Great, well we are going to be carpooling from the church. If you can meet there at 6:30pm (or insert correct time) and we will drive to (NORTH) Mt. Hermon AME or (SOUTH) Sweet Home Missionary Baptist where the meeting will take place. Are you going to drive on your own or carpool?”
  • Ok, well I will see you at the church. Here is your ticket to fill out with your name, our congregations name, and I already put my name down since I am your team member that invited you”

If No?

  • Why not? Answer any questions they have or see if transportation is a problem and remind them why their participation is important for doing justice and building up the justice ministry
  • Remember to use the ABCs: Acknowledge the obstacle, Bridge to their interest, Call for Commitment again
