Jeremiah Part 2Lesson 3

  1. God has judged Sin: Lamentations 4:1
  1. Did anyone confront your sin? Lamentations 4:13-14

You have a church that is tolerating sin—that is not dealing with sin?

1 Corinthians 5:11 It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father’s wife.2 You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.....5 I have decided to deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of his flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

Galatians 6:1. 1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted.

2 Timothy 4:3tickle their ears?

2 Thessalonians 2 the spirit of God in us as a kingdom of priests unto God are His restrainers of evil. And then when the rapture comes and we’re taken out of the way—all hell will break loose. God has judged; and their sin was not confronted because the priests and the prophets didn’t do their job.

1 John 1:6. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;7 but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin8 If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves

Jeremiah 6:14 The prophets were saying, “Peace, peace,” when there was no peace.

1 John 1:99 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.1 My little children,I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin.And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;2 and He Himself is the propitiation (the satisfaction)for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

Confess your sin! Acknowledge it!

Now listen, you don’t have to forgive yourself—that is NOT a biblical teaching. If God forgives you, it’s God you offended and God forgives you. To say, “I can’t forgive myself,” is a lack of faith and you sinned against God.

  1. Man is not the cure.

Deuteronomy 32:39. 39 ‘See now that I, I am He, And there is no god besides Me; It is I who put to death and give life. I have wounded and it is I who can heal,

Psalm 51:4, 4 Against You, You only, I have sinned And done what is evil in Your sight, So that You are justified when You speak And blameless when You judge 6 Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, And in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.7 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.8 Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.9 Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities.10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.11 Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.12 Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.13 ThenI will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be converted to You.

  1. You’ve taken your punishment.

Lamentations 3:25-34 Hebrews 12. We call it the “PAIDEIA” chapter which means the training of children.

Hebrews 12:5. 5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, “My son, do not regardlightly the discipline of the Lord, Norfaint when you are reproved by Him;6 For those whom the Lordloves He disciplines,And He scourgeseverysonwhom He receives.”

Job 5:1717 “Behold, how happyis the man whom God reproves, So do not despise the discipline of the Almighty. 18 “For He inflicts pain, and gives relief; He wounds, and His handsalso heal.

Proverbs 3:11-1311 My son, do not reject the discipline of the Lord Or loathe His reproof,12 For whom the Lord loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.13 How blessed is the man who finds wisdom And the man who gains understanding

  1. Now precious one—child of God—when your punishment is complete, move on.

Lamentations 4:22 Malachi 1:2-3Jacob have I loved; Esau have Ihated.

Hebrews 12:11, 11 All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yetto those who have been trained by it,afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.12 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak and the knees that are feeble. 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed but rather be healed14 Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; 15 See to it that no one comes short of the grace of God; that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, and by it many be defiled;16 that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau,16 that there be no immoral or godless person like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.17 For you know that even afterwards, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it with tears. He cried, but he didn’t repent

  1. You come running!

Lamentations 5: 19

Romans 11:2828 From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers;29 for the gifts and the calling of God areirrevocable. ....26 so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, He will removeungodliness from Jacob.”27 “This is My covenant with them, When I takeaway their sins.”

CONCLUSION. Hebrews 10:14. 14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified. 15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after saying,16 “This is the covenant that I will make with themAfterthosedays, says the Lord: I will put My laws upon their heart, And on their mind I will write them,”,17 “And their sins and their lawlessdeedsI will remembernomore.”18 Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin. 19 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy placeby the blood of Jesus,20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 12:18.....22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to myriads of angels,23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect24 and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

Now listen, this is the message to you today, see to it that you do not refuse Him who has spoken.

God says, “Come running. Come running.”

And Lamentations ends with the fact that the punishment of your iniquity is complete. So you say, “Remember us O God, Restore us O God,” and He will .....and He will use you. Just come running to the mercy seat.
