PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL - April 2nd & 3rd

Presider:

As people who are called to believe, to hope, and to intercede for the world, let us pray, Lord hear our prayer.....

Lector:

1. For those throughout the world who are most in need of our prayers: for people who live with violence, poverty, inadequate education, lack of access to medical care, and other assaults on the human person …

For this community and for communities of Christians gathered all over the world: for those newly baptized or received into the church, that they might receive a generous welcome, and for their continued formation in the faith …

On this Divine Mercy Sunday, let us remember that our God is merciful and forgiving. For those struggling with habits of sin; for those who are anxious about going to confession; for communities where there is no priest for the sacraments; for God’s blessing on confessors, counselors and spiritual directors …

For the infirm and the elderly, and for those who care for their needs...... And for all who are grieving the loss of someone they love....and for all the intentions in our parish book, we pray...

2. For our brothers and sisters who are ill: ...... especially Msgr. O’Connor, Pretha Goodman, Kenneth A. Goss, Josephine Rutka, Margaret Lisse, Diana Cerrano, Kathleen Harris, Marguerite LaMarque, … and all those wounded in the service of our country,..... that they be patient in their time of suffering and soon come to the fullness of health.... we pray....

2a. (Sun. at 5:30 pm)

for the intentions of Thomas Middelhoff… we pray....

3. For those dear to us who have died, whose memories are with us at this time:

Sat. 5:30 pm Giovanni Ianni

Sun. 8:30 am The Decker and Carroll Families

10:00 am Vincenzo Gardino

12:30 pm Michael T. Wallace

5:30 pm

(For whom this mass is offered)

Those in whose memory the Easter Flowers have been offered…Kevin Colleran, Alfred Weisman, Cleveland Hart and Pat Tarallowho died during the past week...All of the victims of was and terrorism– that they may rest forever in the embrace of the one true God, we pray....

4.And let us pause now to present our own personal petitions...(PAUSE ....count to 10)...... We are still a nation at war, let us pray for our president, our elected officials, the members of our diplomatic corps(core) and all those who serve our country in our uniformed services..... may their efforts for peace and justice be fruitful;..... together, let us raise our voices in a prayer for true and lasting peace......

the words are found on the back cover of the hymnal...

Presider:

Gracious and merciful God, we give you thanks and praise for the promise of new life in Christ Jesus, our risen Lord. Amen.
