Prayer letter September- April 2018

Dear Friends,

I greet you all in the precious Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is with a great joy to be writing this letter to you after months of grieving and honoring my departed wife, friend and mother of our children.

First and foremost, I thank my heavenly Father for sustaining us during these very difficult times we have had to undergo.

He has been and is still with us and we are grateful. “Ps 48:14 for this God is our God forever and ever; he will be our guide even to the death” (NIV)

Personally speaking;

Many thanks to family and friends, for your continued prayer support.The children and I have been overwhelmed by the Love and care you have shown to us over these months.

In July, I started my sabbatical leave, I spent the 1st month at the African Village Hotel, and this had earlier been organised by my friend Brian. While there, the Father asked me a question. “Why do I want to concern myself with the issues about tomorrow?” During this time, I was concerned about what my tomorrow will bring.

After the 1st month, I left for South Africa, where I spent another month. While there, I was booked at a Christian retreat Centre which is so isolated from the busy City life. I had a self-contained room for myself and spent each day in the bushes while in prayer to my Father. Looking back, I am glad; I went away from usual work.

While there, I spent most of my time seeking to know the Father’s will for my life and ministry. He was so gracious to me, he spoke to me. He said to me “that it is him who began this good work in me and it is He who will bring it to completion”. This brought Joy and peace in my heart. Yes, I am still hurting for the loss but am also seeing where the Father is taking me. The children are also gradually getting much better. Joshua and Charity and their two children, Israel and Isla are all well.

Ruth is good; she is soon leaving us to get married to Alex one of the young men from the Namuwongo Church. Her introduction will take place on the 10th January and the wedding will be on the 12th January 2018.

James is also doing well; he is working with and Insurance Company in Kampala.

In summary we are all seeing a ray of hope and are optimistic for a better tomorrow since our Father is on our side. Meanwhile, we continue to value your prayers as we move on with life.

Ministry;

The ministry activities are going on well in the different Countries where this ministry has planted Churches. The leadership teams from the different countries are doing a great work. The Ugandan team in particular did a great work when I was away.

Kairos Hospital;

At Kairos Hospital building work continues to complete the first floor. The number of patients grew steadily before a decline in Q3. More insurance companies are signing MOU’s which should increase the number of patients in the future. The excellent customer care brings many new clients to the Hospital. You will see that the logo has been changed to recognise the great work and commitment that Mummy Jane had to the original vision and growth of KMC and Kairos Hospital

Kairos Medical Centre, Kampala;

Kairos Medical Centre has had a very successful period of growth in the number of patients they attend to. Staff morale is very good and they are highly motivated just like those who serve in Kairos Hospital. The building has been repainted and a new generator purchased to improve the level of care offered when there are power shortages. Also, a new CBC analysing machine has recently been purchased for the Laboratory improving the number and level of service offered

Kairos Health Centre, Rwanda;

Kairos Health Centre, Kigali opened in 2015 and has grown from strength to strength over this last year; they now treat over 1,650 patients every month. Their prayer is for additional equipment to help them increase and improve the number of services offered to the local community. The team are fully committed to the LMCC vision of providing excellent customer care while looking after the needy from within the community.

Kairos Schools;

The exam results from KN&PS and KHS, Bukasa, Muyenga were the best so far from our schools and thanks and congratulations go to the staff of both schools. Pupil / Student numbers are below expectation this year which will limit the operational expenditure. However, four more classrooms have been tiled leaving only eight remaining for completion. We believe that those 4 remaining classrooms requiring plastering will be completed this year. Kasambya School and Musenyi School, Rwanda also performed well. Pupil numbers in Kasambya are around 220 and they have recently added two new classrooms. At Musenyi they educate 532 pupils, a record! Unfortunately, all our schools continually struggle with fees collection and we encourage everyone to have a collective responsibility in this area.

Kairos Farm;

The severe drought in 2016/17 meant that there were no crops grown during this period. However, the cattle production continues to go on well and the number of goats grows every month. We have extended the protected goat area and have built another goat house. Much work is still to be done at the farm and we are hopeful for improvement shortly.

Friends of Kairos;

“Friends of Kairos” comprises a group of supporters from the UK who financially support the ongoing work of LMCC through the various Kairos projects. Within the last year, they have provided funds to tile a classroom at Kairos High School, provided a generator for Kairos Medical Centre, purchase a new computer (to handle IAA Insurance) and a filing cabinet at Kairos Hospital and repainted the exterior of KN&PS, KHS and KMC. We pray that the exterior of the Hospital will soon be painted as a result of their gifts. We praise God for everyone stands with us in prayer for our projects.
