PRANCER & DRILL TEAM TRAINING TRYOUTS
All candidates must be a current 8th, 9th, 10th, or 11thgrade student.
All candidates MUST attend this mandatory clinic.
All candidates MUST complete audition packet distributed at clinic.
MANDATORY CLINIC DATES
April 3rd – 6th

Pearland High School – Prancer Dance Room
April 3rd – 5th: Learn tryout dance
April 6th: Audition in front of judges
You will be expected to perform the dance taught at clinic, right and left splits, and four 8 counts of kicking for judges on Wednesday. The dance may include a double pirouette, turning center (disk), fouettes, grandjete leap, illusion, and a calypso.
You will perform in groups of 4-5.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdayyou may wear any clothes that are easy to move in. Please have hair pulled up, no jeans, and no jewelry.
Thursday April 6th- PLEASE WEAR ALL BLACK FORM FITTING CLOTHES.
You may wear jazz shoes, socks, or dance bare feet.

A. Candidates must be academically eligible at the time of auditions.
B. A candidate is required to have excellent classroom citizenship/conduct. No “U’s” in conduct and no more than 1 “N” for the ENTIRE SCHOOL YEAR.
C. A candidate is required to have excellent disciplinary records in keeping with district policies.
D. A candidate may not have chronic absences in any one class during the current school year.
E. 4-7 missed periods = 1 full day absence; All absences are counted exceptions will be made for medical (M)orUIL/School Sponsored Trips.

****A lot of extra work and time is required to be a member of the Prancer Dance Team. You MUST be willing to put Dance Team Training and Prancers first before any other outside dance or junior drill teams. This is very important, especially during contest season.

Hair needs to be in a high sock bun and you need to have full makeup on.
We will pass out costumes on this date.
April 27th – April 29th, 5:00 PM
SPRING SHOW
Sock bun, full stage makeup, tights, tan jazz shoes, clear strap bra, and cover-ups need to be on when you arrive. Bring your costume on a hanger. You will turn in your costume to the directors on the third night before leaving.
