PRACTICE NURSE – Temporary 1 year contract
JOB SPECIFICATION
The successful applicant will require the following qualification, experience and personal skills.
Essential
- RGN on the NMC live Register.
- Three years post registration experience
- Knowledge of recent developments in Health & Social Care and the role of other agencies.
- Ability to demonstrate innovative practice that will take into account the need for client choice and user involvement.
- Ability to demonstrate evidence-based practice and to disseminate knowledge/finding from research.
- Highly developed verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Demonstrate an understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for discretion and confidentiality.
- Demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
- Demonstrate an ability to prioritize workload.
- Demonstrate an approach to work which is flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service.
Desirable
- Recognized qualifications in both asthma and COPD.
- Recognised qualification in Diabetes
- Recognised qualification in Cervical Screening
- Experience of working within a Primary Care setting.
- Experience of coronary heart disease management.
- Experience of EMIS clinical system or similar.
- Recognized travel vaccination qualification.
- Knowledge of the Quality and Outcomes Framework within the GP contract.

It is a condition for all positions within The Surgery, that employees may not be registered with any of our Doctors. If the successful applicant is registered with our Surgery, he/she will be required to transfer to an alternative GP practice.
