PRACTICE NURSE – Temporary 1 year contract

JOB SPECIFICATION

The successful applicant will require the following qualification, experience and personal skills.

Essential

  1. RGN on the NMC live Register.
  2. Three years post registration experience
  3. Knowledge of recent developments in Health & Social Care and the role of other agencies.
  4. Ability to demonstrate innovative practice that will take into account the need for client choice and user involvement.
  5. Ability to demonstrate evidence-based practice and to disseminate knowledge/finding from research.
  6. Highly developed verbal, written, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  7. Demonstrate an understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for discretion and confidentiality.
  8. Demonstrate an ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
  9. Demonstrate an ability to prioritize workload.
  10. Demonstrate an approach to work which is flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service.

Desirable

  1. Recognized qualifications in both asthma and COPD.
  2. Recognised qualification in Diabetes
  3. Recognised qualification in Cervical Screening
  4. Experience of working within a Primary Care setting.
  5. Experience of coronary heart disease management.
  6. Experience of EMIS clinical system or similar.
  7. Recognized travel vaccination qualification.
  8. Knowledge of the Quality and Outcomes Framework within the GP contract.

Whilst elements of the essential criteria of the Personnel Specification will be the basis for short listing, these may become more stringent by the tightening of the criteria.

It is a condition for all positions within The Surgery, that employees may not be registered with any of our Doctors. If the successful applicant is registered with our Surgery, he/she will be required to transfer to an alternative GP practice.
