3Accommodation andhotel reservations
TheEcuadorianAdministrationhassecuredspecialrateswithanumberofcitycentrehotels,detailsofwhichare giveninthetable onthenextpage, where thereisalsoa mapshowingthelocation of eachhotelinrelationtothe meeting venue.In order to get special rates please refer to the event organized by MINTEL.
Oncethedelegateshavearrangedtheiraccommodationwith thehotels,theyarekindlyrequested toinformus ofthe reservationsmade,bye-mailto:;ingtheforms provided forthe purpose.
It isimportantthatreservations bemadeasearlyaspossible.All reservationsmustincludeacreditcardnumber.You willreceiveaconfirmation messageonceyourreservationhasbeenacceptedbythehotel.Should yousubsequently findthatyouwillbeunabletoattendthemeeting, thereservationmustbecancelled sufficientlyin advance (at least 7 days); and it should be done with our intermediary in order to avoid any inconvenience.
There will be buses that will arrive to the suggested hotels in a planned schedule arrangement, to take the delegates to the meeting place. As it takes about 20 minutes to get there by car/bus, it is not convenient to go by walking.
It is important for delegates to fill out the form in Annex 3 in order to coordinate the transfer from the airport to the hotel.

5Entryformalities
MostofthevisitorstoEcuadorareautomaticallygivenatourist visa,a12-X,whichallowsforastay ofupto90days. The onlycountriesthatneeda visa toaccessEcuadorareAfghanistan,Bangladesh,Eritrea,Ethiopia, Kenya,Nepal, Nigeria,PakistanandSomalia.Foralltherest,theonlyrequirementstoobtain a12-Xvisaareapassportvalidforat leastsixmonths,areturnticket,andproofofeconomicmeans tosupportyourself duringyour stay.
No vaccinationcertificateis required for enteringthecountry.
If delegations comefromColombia itisnecessary to present thecriminal recorddocument.

Spanishistheofficial languageandAmerindian languages(Quechua).

Mantaislocatedinadrytropicalforestarea withanaverageannualtemperatureof25degreesCelsius(77°F).The areahasawide varietyofclimatezonesattributedgeographicalcharacteristics ofthearea. Duringtheyear,thereare twoseasons;rainy,anddry.Therainyseasonisapproximatelysixmonthslong whenitishotandhumid,andoccurs fromDecembertoMay.Thedryseasonisapproximatelysixmonthslongandoccursduringthe months ofJuneto November.Itiswarmbut verylowhumidity.
