A hanging strap in a class of its own

faigle will be presenting the latest generation of its hanging straps, the varioSTRAP, at InnoTrans from 23rd to 26th September 2014 in Berlin. The modern stirrup shape offers the customer an alternative to the loop, while the range of different materials for the side band provides a measure of design freedom.

The varioSTRAP offers operators of buses and trams an exclusive look and design combined with high quality and safety. The mix of materials is quite distinctive, with the texture of the side band made from plastic, leather or fabric providing a contrast.

The combination creates a multitude of possibilities. "The varioSTRAP is somewhat special. We offer the customer complete flexibility. Chromium or grass green – the varioSTRAP fits in perfectly with the customer's corporate design and highlights the essentials," according to Wolfgang Siegl, Technical Sales at faigle Kunststoffe GmbH. "Weshowthatthereis still scopefornewoptions in thehangingstrapsector. "Initially there will be a standard range. Depending on the numbers ordered, the scope for variations is almost unlimited," says Wolfgang Siegl.

With the varioSTRAP, faigle has created a modern, elegant hanging strap. The manufacturer sees the exclusive segment as the largest market for the new product. The varioSTRAP suits today's style of modern vehicle interiors. How quickly the hanging strap enters series production on the market largely depends on the design aspirations of the vehicle manufacturers and their specifications.

faigle also sees a market for the varioSTRAP in Asia. The varioSTRAP is therefore the first hanging strap from faigle in a stirrup shape – in contrast to the traditional loop shape. In Asia, the stirrup shape is much preferred.

Hand in hand with the materials goes know-how. faigle is well established on the market as a plastic specialist. The Austrian company manufactures in Hard in Vorarlberg and exports all over the world. Its list of customers contains some 50 public transport operators, including Vienna's Wiener Linien.

Hanging straps in buses and trams fulfil an important safety function. A pleasant, secure grip encourages passengers to reach out and take hold of them. In daily use, they have to satisfy the highest requirements – for many years. The passenger must feel safe and at ease when holding them.

faigle goes way beyond the minimum requirements with its products. Load capacity, durability, ease of cleaning and fire protection are guaranteed with all hanging straps from faigle. "With the varioSTRAP, our portfolio gains a very high-quality solution for customers who value the new and the modern alongside the usual faigle quality," sums up Siegl.
