POWER LOCK – coupling the PTO shaft comfortably from the driver's seat
A technical partnership project by Fendt, Walterscheid and Pöttinger

The POWER LOCK project is a study shared by the manufacturers FENDT, WALTERSCHEID and PÖTTINGER.The objective of this project is to bring an increase in comfort and reduction in time and risk involved while connecting up implements to the tractor. The first presentation of this project took place at AGRITECHNICA 2007; the product launch of POWER LOCK is scheduled for the end of 2009.

The key function of POWER LOCK is to automate the coupling of the PTO shaft from the driver's seat. The whole procedure for connecting the implement is built up in several functions so that customers can put together an application-specific package to meet their requirements:

Main function: - coupling PTO shaft

Additional functions: - connecting top linkage

- connecting hydraulics

- operating support legs and safety systems

Pneumatic and electrical connections are not included at the moment.

POWER LOCK can be used universally: for three-point front and rear mountings, equipment trailed from the lower linkages and machines towed using a ball hitch. Any tractor, any implement and any PTO shaft – even wide angle shafts – can be coupled using POWER LOCK.Existing equipment can be retrofitted with POWER LOCK by simply replacing the end of the PTO shaft and welding or bolting on a bracket for the PTO suspension bar.The tractor just needs to have at least one double-acting hydraulic remote valve available.Old and new implements can be used alongside each other without problems.
