Potential belongs to every minister and every believer
Make sure you’re not trying to grow the wrong way
- piling on religious duties
- you can’t tithe, give, or do your way to spirituality - spirituality must come first
- doing should be a result of the heart - actions should follow your spiritual state not the other way
Transformation cannot be done on your own - you must have the hand of God at work to reshape you and mold you.
1 Corinthians 9:27 - 27But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Provisions must be there before you start successfully
Example - the Antarctic expedition
Some never set out with a full goal in mind, so it becomes easier for distractions
If you aim at nothing, it’s easier to hit nothing.
Reasons we fall short:
- we get wrapped up in doing, not being
- we get caught up with the world
- many roads run parallel to God’s will and can be deceiving
- even good things can become unfruitful
Paul was determined to reach his full potential:
Philippians 3:12-14 - 12Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.13Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,14I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
You cannot reach your potential with:
- the latest fad
- the latest self-help thought
- popular psychology trends
but only with a closer relationship with Christ
You must have made up your mind (resolve) that you are going to do it.

Positive Attitude

Purpose - Everyone was called to serve!
Find your “why” and stick to it. Talk yourself into your “why” and not out of it.
Hope - one of the biggest obstacles to overcome is seeing past the circumstances of today.
Get hope, give hope
Encouragement - Pray in the Holy Ghost
Wait on the Lord
Receive encouragement
Positive Attitude -
Forget about the past
Commit to constant improvement
Remove negative speech - Proverbs 11:11
Failure is never final
Determination - how much do you want to?
How much are you willing to overcome?
How much are you willing to work through?
Do you quit easily?
Determination is the driving force to your purpose
- it removes resistance
- ignites your fire
- gives you clarity of focus
- it is the key to growth
Hunger so much that nothing stops you
