Research essay

Write an essay about your research, targeted at a general academic audience. Ensure you demonstrate the innovative nature and wider significance of your research by, for example, illustrating how your findings have changed thinking within your discipline. (Maximum of 3000 words)

(Complete this section if you are applying on the basis of a Paper / Publication / Creative Work)

Summary of paper/publication

Briefly summarise the findings and implications of your research (targeted at a general academic audience). Maximum of 300 words.

Previous recognition of excellence in research and academia

Awards, prizes or scholarships

Include the name, nature and tenure of any awards, prizes or scholarships have held and/or currently hold in relation to your postgraduate studies.

Provide the citation(s) for any academic publications you have written or contributed to and/or conference presentations you have given related to your research.

  1. Applications for Research Excellence Awards are open to students of University that are currently enrolled in either a Masters programme and proceeding to the PhD programme.
  2. The funding provided by a Research Excellence Award must be used within one calendar year of receipt. If not used within this timeframe, the funding will expire.
  3. Successful applicants agree to allow the ACBSP to publish a brief synopsis of their research on the ACBSP website.This synopsis may be used by the ACBSP for the purposes of promoting the Research Excellence Awards.
