Description of duties
- To promote the project to elderly people through care homes, sheltered accommodation, Age UK Todmorden, Age UK Calderdale and Kirklees, voluntary and community organizations, and the local press.
- To provide passenger assistant duties for CTC passengers to ensure the safety and comfort of CTC service users.
- To assist passengers boarding/alighting the vehicle including operation of the tail-lift and the pushing and securing of wheelchairs (training can be given)
- To provide assistance and escort duties at the destination if required (including pushing wheelchairs)
- To collect data regarding successes and failures of trips.
- To undertake post day trip visits to elderly people to encourage and maximize the uptake of events and activities and so increase elderly peoples community networks.
- To liaise, where appropriate, with the families of elderly people and work together to encourage the family member to take part in further activities.
- To comply with all CTCpolicies, procedures and best practice.
- To undertake reasonable job related training requested by line manager.
- To maintain suitable levels of customer service in person and during telephone contact with all contact types.
- To report any concerns in respect of the vehicle (i.e seat or seatbelt issues) to the Coordinator.
- Any other reasonable duty to benefit the needs of CTC business.
Personnel specification
ATTRIBUTES / ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLEQUALIFICATIONS / -English Language and Mathematics GCSE Grades A-C or equivalent
EXPERIENCE / -Confidence to network with other organisations to promote and develop the project.
-Clerical/ administrative experience / -Experience of providing transport services.
-Experience of working with people with disabilities
PRACTICAL AND INTELLECTUAL SKILLS / -Friendly and professional phone manner
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Work within deadlines and under pressure.
-Must be able to follow guidelines and policies
TRAINING / -Willingness to undertake any appropriate training / -PATS training
-Health and safety training
-First Aid
-Use of tail lift and clamping down wheelchairs

Numeracy and literacy skills suitable for regular reporting. / Previous project development experience.
Experience / Previous work with elderly people.
