Dear Applicant,

This form has been specifically designed to aid the Civilian Personnel Selection Board (CPSB) in ascertaining whether or not you meet the essential and desirable qualification requirements of the aforementioned posts as advertised. If you are applying for more than one vacant post listed in separate advertisements, it will be necessary for you to complete a separate form for each advertisement.

This form consists of 2 parts. You are required to make entries in all blocks in both parts under “B” below.

Part 1 lists the Essential Qualifications of the above posts (with the exception of security clearance).

In completing each block under “B” in part 1, you must provide factual information stating how you meet the respective essential qualifications quoted under “A”.

IMPORTANT: Normally the CPSB will only consider the applications of candidates fully meeting all the essential qualifications of the job description. When no candidates apply who meet all the essential qualifications, the board may decide to consider candidates not possessing all of the essential qualifications.

Part 2 lists the Desirable Qualifications of the above posts. In completing each block under “B” in part 2, you must either provide factual information stating how you meet the respective desirable qualification quoted under “A” or indicate that you do not meet it.

Professional/Experience

Recent experience in software engineering of large-scale distributed software intensive transaction processing or management support systems (like management information-, decision support systems, etc), or recent experience in software engineering of processing-intensive real-time systems.
General up-to-date knowledge of computer system architectures, operating systems, client/server, LAN/WAN and network concepts.
General up-to-date knowledge of software engineering related software life cycle models, methods, techniques, metrics and tools.
Proven ability to analyze, design, develop, integrate and test software systems.
Minimum of 2 years professional experience in developing or maintaining object-oriented software.
Working level knowledge of hardware (UNIX workstations, Personal Computers), firmware and operating systems (UNIX, MS Windows).
Working knowledge of software configuration management, systematic testing and quality assurance.
General understanding and basic knowledge of ISO 9001.
General understanding and basic knowledge of engineering and test requirements from ISO 12207.
Basic knowledge of project management.
Proof of successful completion of training in at least 3 computer programming languages.
Working level knowledge of active and passive sensor system technology and operation.

Education/Training

Professional/Experience

Recent experience with analysis, design, development/sustainment, integration of airborne IT systems from Aerospace Industry and/or military organizations.
Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of system engineering, airworthiness and test requirements from RTCA/DO 160, RTCA/DO 178B, RTCA/DO 254 or equivalent standards.
Experience in automated tools supporting software engineering activities.
Knowledge about Industry standard software architectures of embedded and real-time systems.
General knowledge about contemporary industry standard COTS products that are used for embedded and real-time systems.
Knowledge of Configuration Management tools.
1 year recent experience working in an organization or entity that is ISO 9001 certified, or that uses ISO 9001 as a guideline.
1 year recent experience working in an organization or entity that is ISO 12207 certified, or that uses ISO 12207 as a guideline.
1 year recent experience working in an organization or entity that is ISO 17025 certified, or that uses ISO 17025 as a guideline.

Education/Training

University Degree in the field of Computing or in a related Engineering field with substantial Information Technology (IT) content.
