Post Title Basic Engineering Trainer

Responsible To Senior Manager

Aġenzija Żgħażagħ is seeking a Basic Engineering Trainer to provide services to the participants of the Youth.inc programme. Aġenzija Żgħażagħ promotes the interest of young people and provides assistance to youth organisations and young people in achieving their potential.

Purpose

To conduct Basic Engineering training courses at MQF Level 1 and MQF Level 2 that will be carried out at the Youth.inc Training Centre in Santa Venera.

Youth.inc is an inclusive educational experiential programme for young people between the age of 16 and 21 who wish to continue to build on their educational experience and gain more knowledge, values and skills to either enter the labour market or gain qualifications to continue further training.

Responsibilities and personal duties

1.  Prepare resources for basic engineering training courses at MQC Level 1 and 2 and in line with the interests and needs of the young people following the Youth.inc programme;

2.  Train and facilitate the learning of the young people attending the programme at MQC Level 1 and 2;

3.  Liaise with the Youth Support Workers and the Senior Manager in the delivery of the basic engineering Training Programme.

In general

4.  To deliver services in accordance with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and Youth.inc policies, objectives standards and procedures.

5.  To maintain a good quality of educational and training service.

6.  To work as part of a team and collaborate with other staff within Aġenzija Żgħażagħ and Youth.inc.

7.  To keep updated and accurate details and records for each young person following the programme.

8.  To ensure that confidentiality is maintained and that data is protected according to law.

9.  To participate in meetings as instructed by the Senior Manager.

10. To participate in internal evaluations of the programme.

11. To contribute to the keeping of accurate statistical records.

Qualifications

Trainers are expected to be an adult educator in basic engineering. Teaching or training experience is an asset. Qualified youth workers who are able to teach basic engineering are given a preference.

Selection Criteria

1.  Sound organisational skills including ability to work within a team and organise training effectively.

2.  Knowledge and experience of basic engineering training;

3.  Task-orientated, responsible and autonomous, and continuous improvement minded;

4.  Strong interpersonal and communication qualities are essential in relation to colleagues and young people.

5.  Transparency in working and a team-orientated work ethic. Keen to work as an integral part of a small organisation.

6.  Commitment to deliver on allocated tasks and respond in a timely manner to deadlines;

7.  Commitment to “customer care” with colleagues throughout the organisation and to ensuring external customer satisfaction;

8.  Positive and constructive attitude;

9.  An understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity and diversity;

10. Understanding of and commitment to the values of the social enterprise sector;

11. Reliable and able to work on own initiative.

Supervision Received:

The service provider shall be accountable to the Senior Manager.

Work pattern:

To conduct ICT training courses in Computer Netowrking. Training will be carried out at the Youth.inc Training Centre in Santa Venera during 2015/2016.

Purpose

To conduct ICT training courses including but not restricted to basic computer skills, word processing, spreadsheet, use of email and internet, ECDL and Advanced ECDL. Training will be carried out at the Youth.inc Training Centre in Santa Venera during 2015/2016.
