Post Title: Activator - BME Communities

Location: West Yorkshire - Leeds

Salary: £17,333 - £19,317 per annum (plus pension contribution) (plus travel

expenses and pension contribution, annual salary increase pending)

POSITION SUMMARY

This post is subject to the availability of external funding without which the purpose of employment does not exist.

PURPOSE OF POST

To deliver specific running outcomes related to the Leeds core cities project; with

responsibility for a geographical area and working with target participant groups. To increase

participation in running of participants aged 14+ through the delivery of co-ordinated sport

and physical activity programmes.

Help identify gaps in local provision and develop local development plans to ensure

there are opportunities to participate for the local population

Support the development of Leeds Core Cities projects through engaging target markets such as disability, BME women and girls.

Communicate effectively in formal and informal situations with a range of partners by a variety of means.

Assist with the development of marketing and promotional materials appropriate to the individuals/groups worked with.

Work with colleagues and partners to support funding applications and action plans to attract additional funding or sponsorship.

Assist and undertake administrative tasks as required to effectively monitor, evaluate and deliver sports and activity programmes.

Develop a volunteer base to deliver sustainable projects to increase participation.

Provide reports on the development of the projects and identify possible changes to continue to increase participation.

Ability to inspire and attract new participants through events, taster sessions and

meetings

1.10 Travel to venues within Leeds areas to meet the needs of the organisation.

1.11 Assist in the identification and undertaking of his/her own training and development

requirements in accordance with the appropriate organisation employee development scheme.

1.12 To undertake such other duties and responsibilities of an equivalent nature, as may be

determined by the post holder's supervisor from time to time, in consultation with the post holder.

1.13 The post holder's duties must at all times be carried out in compliance with WYSport

policy and procedure including Safeguarding and Equality procedures.

 Must be able and willing to work unsocial hours including regular evenings and occasional
