Thank you for showing an interest in teaching at our school. Our school is looking to appoint an outstanding Year 4/5 class based teacher to join us for up to one year on a maternity cover contract. A handover period with the current class teacher is planned for as part of the role.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Crockham Hill is a small Church of England (Voluntary Controlled) school with a maximum roll of 140 pupils. It is very well regarded locally, both for its attainment and for its pastoral care. The school is regularly oversubscribed and operates waiting lists in many age groups.

The school was last inspected by OFSTED in June 2013 and the Diocese of Rochester in July 2010. The school was identified as good overall by OFSTED with behaviour and safety judged to be outstanding. It was recognised that there is much teaching that is outstanding. The Diocesan inspection judged all areas relevant to the inspection to be good. It is expected that the successful candidate will enable the school to offer outstanding provision to our pupils and families and to be able to sustain these achievements.

Pupils are organised into 5 classes, four of which are mixed-age groupings. The current vacancy is for Phoenix Class. This is a class of 20 Year 5 pupils and 10 Year 4 pupils. The class has a wide range of ability and attainment is generally high.

If the successful candidate is available, there will be the opportunity to liaise with the current class teacher and get to know the class in February. It is hoped the successful candidate would be available to start no later than February 23rd 2015.
